GREENWOOD, NE. (July 2nd, 2009) - Denny Eckrich thrilled a standing room only crowd at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Nebraska on a special Thursday night show to take the win and the $4,000 winner's share of the purse to kick off the O'Reilly MLRA Freedom Tour Weekend.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (July 2) – Brian Blessington provided the excitement and Jeff Joldersma provided the consistency. As a result, both went home winners Thursday night.

MACON, IL (July 2) - Using a turn three slide job on the 19th lap of the Herald and Review 100 Shannon Babb of nearby Moweaqua, Ill. claimed his first UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals victory of 2009.

DONNELLSON, Iowa (July 2, 2009) – Michael Long took the lead early and ran away for the big payday at the 2nd Annual Pepsi Liberty Cup during the Miller Lite IMCA Modified feature at Lee County Speedway, Thursday.

ALLISON, Iowa (July 2) - Polesitter Chad Simpson of Mount Vernon, Iowa, won in convincing fashion for a Corn Belt Clash victory at Highway 3 Raceway. Simpson earned $2,000 for his 25-lap victory on the first-year tour.

GREENWOOD, Neb. (July 2, 2009) – Brian Brown picked off his first American Sprint Car Series feature win of the year by topping Thursday night's 25-lap ASCS Midwest Region feature event at Nebraska Raceway Park's I-80 Speedway. 

GRIMES, IA (July 2, 2009) - A cut tire snapped the Andy Santerre Motorsports prepared #44, driven by rookie Brett Moffitt, into the turn three wall and rendered it un-repairable on lap thirty-nine during the “Heluva Good!  Summer 125” last Friday evening at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway Camping World Series East event.

QUINCY, IL (June 28) -  Keith Pratt took home the biggest payday of his career on Sunday, June 28 during the Titan Wheel and Tire Late Model Topless Shootout at Quincy Raceways.

WHEATLAND, Mo. (June 27) After a two-year hiatus, the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour returned to the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo., Saturday with a huge crowd of enthusiastic fans on hand to see the Best of the Best in Modified racing at the Best of the Best in dirt track facilities.

SPRINGFIELD, MO (June 27) - Despite soaring temperatures the action Sat night at the quick-quarter of the Springfield Raceway provided an excellent track surface and side by side racing action all night long as the feature winners went down to the wire.

SPRING VALLEY, MN (June 27) - On the initial start of the Jim's AutoCare WISSOTA Street Stock feature Cory Crapser jumped to the high side and made a charge to the front but after losing bite in four came down the track bringing out the caution and a complete restart.

KNOXVILLE, IA (June 27) - Terry McCarl had been in contention a number of times for wins this season with the World of Outlaws and came up just short in each of those bids.

MACON, IL (June 27) - On a monthly basis, Macon Speedway hosts a Kids Club meeting. In the June meeting, kids from all around, sons and daughters of drivers or just fans, began construction on box cars for the July meeting where they put the finishing touches on them, showed them off and raced them in front of a packed front stretch.

NORTH PLATTE, NE. (June 27) - When the A Features rolled out at Lincoln County Raceway on June 27, it seemed as though each feature tried to top the previous feature in the ending.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (June 26) - After a two-week layoff due to weather, racing resumed at a hot and steamy Hawkeye Downs Speedway with “ Yellowbook Mid-Season Championships” on Friday night, June 26.

LA MONTE, Mo. (June 26) Rodney Sanders had been close before, but the 19-year-old from Happy, Texas, finally sealed he deal Friday night as he captured the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour event at the LA Raceway in La Monte, Mo.

MARSHALLTOWN, IA (June 26) - For only the second time during the month of June, race fans were treated to racing action this past Friday night from the Marshalltown Speedway.

McCOOK, NEBR (June 26) - The heat races were nearly finished on June 26 at McCook Speedway when heavy rain fell.

DAVENPORT, Ia. (June 26, 2009) – Mid-Season Championships and one make-up feature from two weeks ago were on tap Friday night at the Davenport Speedway. Between qualifying and features, the 106 competitors on hand turned 250 laps of competition on the quarter mile dirt oval.

OSBORN, MO (June 26) - Officially Joey Saldana only led three times for three single laps on Friday night in the Missouri High-Banked Nationals at U.S. 36 Raceway, but he traded the top spot with Johnny Herrera countless times over the course of the 40-lap event, sometimes multiple times on the same lap, as the pair battled tooth and nail in heavy lapped traffic on the high-banked bullring.

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 26, 2009) - Americans Danny Smith and Jason Johnson and Canadian Toni Lutar have become the latest three entrants for the $10,000-to-win Knoxville World Challenge at Knoxville Raceway on Friday, August 14, during the 49th annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals presented by Lucas Oil.

LANSING, MN (June 26) - With as many rainouts as there been this season at Chateau Raceway in Lansing, powered by Miners Outdoor Power and Recreation of Blooming Prairie, its hard to complain about the weather when you do go to race.

INDEPENDENCE, Iowa (June 26) – After back-to-back rainouts, the Deery Brothers Summer Series gets back on track with a pre-holiday show next Wednesday, July 1 at Independence Motor Speedway. 

VINTON, Iowa (June 25) – Next week’s IMCA American Stock Car Series will pay an additional $1,500 to drivers competing in all three tour events.

PONTOON BEACH, IL (June 24) - Jason Feger lived up to the moniker “The Highside Hustler” on Wednesday night during the 40-Lap “Hell Tour” A-main event at Tri City (Ill.) Speedway.

QUINCY, Ill. (June 24) - IMCA Late Models will battle for $3,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start at Quincy Raceway’s annual Titan Tire and Wheel Shootout on Sunday, June 28.

SPRING VALLEY, MINN (June 24) - The 30th Annual NAPA Auto Parts Gopher 50 is set for Wednesday, July 8th at the Deer Creek Speedway near Spring Valley, Minnesota. Race time will be 6:30 pm.

FOREST PARK, Ill. (June 24) – New IMCA sponsor R2C Performance Products has signed on to give contingency awards at each event in the Deery Brothers Summer Series, as well as at the conclusion of the 23rd annual tour for Late Models.

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 24, 2009)  -  The reception honoring Donny Schatz for  his third brick in the Knoxville Nationals Wall of Champions set for this  Saturday afternoon, June 27, has been changed to 4 p.m. due to previous  commitments. 

LEBANON, MO (June 23) - The action Friday night at the Lebanon Midway Speedway will offer a wide variety of racing events with some special paying events on tap for the action.

MOBERLY, MO (June 23) - Once again there was a great track surface preped for race night at 24 Raceway on June 20th, but the rain took over at 3pm and forced events to be postponed to this Saturday June 27th.

WEST UNION, Iowa (June 22) - Both Deery Brothers Summer Series feature events lost to inclement weather last week are back on the schedule.

DES MOINES, Iowa (June 22)The hottest driver this year scored the victory on the hottest day of the year Monday as the USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour visited the Iowa State Fair Speedway for the 3rd Annual Duel in Des Moines presented by Karl Chevrolet.

BURLINGTON, IA (June 22 ) – Three drivers raced their way to back to back wins at 34 Raceway last Saturday, June 20 with Mark Burgtorf, Quincy, Il., (late models), Josh Foster, Montrose, Ia, (modifieds) and Jeff Mueller, New London, Ia (stock cars) getting wins for the second straight week.

WAKEENEY, KS (June 21) - The caution flag seemed to wave as much as the green flag at Wakeeney (KS) Speedway Sunday evening, June 21, and the attrition rate was high in 3 of the 4 classes competing.

LEXINGTON, Nebr. (June 21) - While many dads had a peaceful Father’s Day during the day, everyone had a wild night June 21 at Dawson County Raceway.

HARLAN, IA (June 20) - It was a hot night for racing as cars lined the infield at Shelby County Speedway.

KNOXVILLE, IOWA (June 20) - Knoxville Raceway celebrated its 56th Mid-Season Championships as Brian Brown and Jonathon Cornell captured feature titles here on Saturday night. The crowd was treated to near-perfect track conditions created by rain throughout the week.

La SALLE, IL (June 20) - Cody Clubb swept the 4 Cylinder Hornet division in front of a packed house for the Jeff Perry Fan Appreciation Night on Saturday at La Salle Speedway. The Morris driver shined with an easy heat race victory and a full throttle charging feature run.  

MACON, IL (June 20) - Father’s Day 2009 not only is a day to recognize the dads of the world but it will also be the official start to summer. Saturday night was a pretty good example of what is to be expected for the 2009 Summer of Fun at Macon Speedway.

MARION, IOWA (June 20, 2009) - John Hall and his Left Turn Enterprises racing team had an up and down kind of night but still came away with lots to build on as the season heats up.

NEW RICHMOND, WIS. (June 21) - Saturday was the seventh race of the 2009 WORLD Dirt Racing League season, the fourth and final night of the Northern Swing and the second and final night here of the 11th annual Masters at Cedar Lake Speedway.  

DECORAH, Iowa (June 20) Al Hejna racked up his fourth USMTS Casey’s General Stores National Tour victory of the season Saturday night with a victory in the “Donnybrook in Decorah” at the Upper Iowa Speedway.

CAMARGO, IL (June 20) - Terry McCarl is one of the biggest showmen in 410 Sprint Car racing, so why should it be any different on the beginning of Ohio Speedweek?

June 30 - Racing at Quincy Raceways for the month of June wrapped up with the first ever Topless late model event at the Broadway Bullring.

June 23 - After a week of - what else - rain, and a week out of town, I returned to QR Sunday night for the weekly showdown at the Bullring.

June 2 - Sunday night was a regular night of racing at Quincy Raceways, but the action was anything but ordinary. A total car count of 71 was led by the UMP Modifieds showing 20 entrants.

May 25 - Quincy Raceways actually managed to avoid the raindrops this past weekend, although they seemed to be in the minority of race tracks doing so.

May 19 - Whoever has been doing the rain dance at Quincy Raceways this season was on hand to tease again this week. Somewhere between a clear Sunday morning and the 20 mile trip to the speedway, "no chance of rain" turned in to a pesky drizzle.

May 13, 2009 - Quincy Raceways owners may wish for more race cars or more fans, but they sure are not wishing for more rain!
