2014 HAWKEYE DOWNS SPEEDWAY SEASON GOES GREEN THIS FRIDAY NIGHT!

Cedar Rapids, IA  (April 30, 2014) — The first green flag of the 2014 racing season at Cedar Rapids’ historic Hawkeye Downs Speedway waves this Friday night, May 2, with action in all six divisions of the Hy-Vee Racing Series.

A full night of heat and feature action is on tap with Carpetland USA Late Models, Mountain Dew Sportsmen, Miller Time Modifieds, Barron Motor Supply Hobby Stocks, Sunline Hornets, and Dublin City Pub Legend Cars taking to the track for their first points events of the season. A new race lineup procedure is in effect for the 2014 season which promises to add new excitement to the racing and the point standings.

Kids will want to visit the Goodyear Tire Stores Lil’ Racers Car Club table under the main Grandstand to sign up for the free club, get some driver autographs,  and see what other activities are in store for them in 2014! The #95 Lightning McQueen Legend Car will again be on display weekly in front of the Lil’ Racer booth.

Hawkeye Downs and Hy-Vee have again teamed up to offer a new and improved concessions menu this season along with the return of Pepsi Products for 2014. Your favorite adult beverages are available as always!

The Front Gate and Concessions open at 6pm with Hot Laps slated for 6:30 pm. Pre-Race Ceremonies will begin at 7:25pm with the first race at 7:30pm.

Hawkeye Downs continues to hold the line on admission prices. Adult admission is STILL just $10, Senior Citizens (62+) are $7, Students over 12 are just $5, College Students are just $5 with a valid ID and Children 12 and Under are absolutely FREE!
