CHASE GETS 20 LAP HORNET SPECIAL WIN, BOTH WITHOUT ANY CAUTIONS.
Story by Pam Hassler, results by Ron Lueck
MOBERLY, MO (April 28) - A super night for racing!!!! Moberly's 24 Raceway enjoyed a very comfortable evening on April 28, '07 to present a great field of race cars. A good crowd had the pleasure of viewing the fast Winged Outlaw Warrior (W.O.W.) 360 cu.in. Sprint Cars in action. What a show also with the other "Weekly Racing Series" classes - minus the A-Mods this week. Thanks to PepsiAmericas of Columbia and the Central MO areas who sponsored the evening's show.
The bicycle - courtesy of 24 Raceway - was won by 10 year old Chase
Harrington of Clarence. Lucky!
Kevin Sheets of Huntsville pocketed $129 from the 50/50 Drawing. Thanks to all
who participated. The other half helps fund the Drivers' Point Fund and the
Racing Banquet.
THANK YOU!
Thanks to all the drivers, owners, and crews who each week provide a great show

RACING ACTION!
4 CYL. HORNETS:
Special 20-lap "no-points" Feature with $250 to win!
A nice field of 24 Hornets took to the track! Rob Chase (#3 Clark), for the 2nd
week in a row, captured the checkered flag after he managed to gain the lead on
the 2nd lap. On his tail and challenging throughout was Steven Delonjay (#35
Quincy, IL) who accepted 2nd place. Coming in 3rd with his best finish was Paul
Stine (#5 Clarence) who said he was "proud of his run" as he "hooked up down
low". Stine had just passed Chad Hickam (#9H Hallsville) who drove well and
scored 4th. Brooke Hassler (#21 Columbia) earned 5th after starting farther
back.
HOBBY STOCKS:
Another "2 weeks in a row" winner!!!
Mike Wolfe (#11W Madison) shook up the field as he pulled away on the 2nd lap
and led the rest of the way to the finish. Gaining on Wolfe for 9 laps was Kevin
Renzelmann (#41 Huntsville) until he lost a wheel and retired to the pits. Lucas
Galland (#7 Moberly) had a good dash into 2nd place. Passing into 3rd place on
the 10th of 12 laps was Mark Forrester (#10 Columbia). Darrell Nickerson (#32
Moberly) grabbed 4th just past Donnie Nickerson (#32R Moberly) in 5th.
SPORTSMAN:
Eighteen cars raced this caution-free 12 lap race. This was an exciting race
with lots of midpack trading places. Racking up his first season win was a
smiling Pete Agee (#14 Huntsville). He thanked his sponsors and those who worked
on the car. Following in 2nd was Larry Krog (#6K Clarence) who also motored well
past lapped traffic. Alan Bergfield (#73 Harrisburg) enjoyed a 3rd place finish
as Charlie Rindom (#42 Moberly) scored 4th. Close by with 5th place was Larry
Minor (#57 Moberly).
MOBERLY MOTORS B-MODS:
After a backstretch several car pile-up on the 2nd lap, the restart provided a
close competition for the rest of the exciting race. Throughout there was often
4, 5, or 6 car pursuits, but on the last couple laps of the 15-lap race, the
scramble ended with Kelly Smith (#82 Kirksville) victorious as he collected his
2nd win in a row. Giving way into 2nd place was hard-charger Tony Garner (#20
Macon). Sporting 3rd place was Brad Pfieffer (#32 Columbia) in front of 4th
place Kevin Embree (#61 Paris). Dustin Boling (#36 Lentner) snared 5th. Smith
said that Garner is a good, fast racer who races clean.
WINGED OUTLAW WARRIORS (W.O.W.) 360 cu. in. SPRINTS:
What an awesome, caution-free FAST race! Rusty Potter (#3P Boonville) was
excited as he claimed his longtime-coming 1st W.O.W. WIN! He stated that his car
was good and made only a few changes. He didn't like "running on the bottom" but
he'd "made a commitment to stay" and it worked just fine. Following in 2nd was
the impressive driver Randy Martin (#14 California). Gabe Maycock ( #98
Middletown) rocketed into the 3rd place finish. Great Rrace! Anxious to have
these 360 cubic inch Sprinters return on May 28th!
