A-MODS, LATEMODELS AND FIREWORKS ON THE 3RD - OH BOY!!
Ron Lueck - Track Spokesman
MOBERLY, MO (June 29) - Tuesday, July 3, the Big Summer Combo Event takes place the night before the 4th's festivities across the nation. Some very fast action will be taking place at the half mile dirt track in Moberly! L & J Development of Moberly will be the sponsor for the annual Oscar White Memorial / Firecracker Forty event for the A Modifieds, with a 40-lap feature as the night's final race feature at 24 Raceway.
Just in case you need a refresher in math, that's a 20 mile race. Also on the agenda and the first time back in a few years is the extremely fast MLRA LateModel touring series in with the Rumble Tour with a 25 lap feature. And these are the unlimited engine Super Late Models touring under the Midwest LateModel Racing Association's banner.
There will be give-aways galore that evening.
The Miller Girls will be in attendance to hand out some door prizes; a tricked out Ford Expedition w/ a plasma tv and wild sound system will be on site, and with someone in the grandstand coming out with a 2 night stay in the Branson area, along with tickets to the Shepherd of the Hills play.
Bring your best cd to pop into that Ford! To complete the L&J Development night's racing venue, the 4 cylinder Hornets will be running in a non-points race of at least 20 laps, & possibly more.
Grandstand admission will be $17 for adults, with kids, ages 6 to 12, still only $5 and kids under 6 are free, as always. Rates for the popular Family Pass will be $40, and that includes admission to the grandstands for 2 adults and 3 children between the ages of 6 to 12. The grandstands will open a bit later on this Tuesday at 5 pm and pit passes will cost $25 for the night.
Hot laps start at 6:45 this night following a short drivers' meeting, and the races will begin a little later at 7:30 pm. And then, to really salute the 4th in style, a grand fireworks display, courtesy of J&M Displays out of Yarmouth, IA will take place.
Stick around for the show and then go to the infield for some close-up
viewing of these racecars, being made available a little longer, following the
fireworks!
