PLENTY OF CARS AND DRIVERS USED THEIR PRACTICE LAPS TO GET READY FOR OPENING NIGHT ON APRIL 12TH AT 24 RACEWAY. Ron Lueck - 24 Raceway MOBERLY, MO (April 6) - Mother Nature cooperated these last two weekends
in allowing all who wanted some track time and seat time their opportunity
at 24 Raceway. Now, it's time for the racing to start up again with the
feature winners gaining points towards the 2008 track championships in each
of the five respective classes. If you're a driver planning on competing at
24 Raceway, a track membership is required for each class that you plan on
competing in. And those five classes are A-modified, B-modified, Sportsman,
Hobby Stock & 4 Cylinder Hornets. As in past years, it's advised to show up
early Saturday, as the line outside the pit entrance at the track's pit
booth will be crowded from those needing to comple the registration
paperwork. Currently, the class with the most registered cars and drivers is
that of the B-Modifieds. Both the B-mods and Hobby Stock classes are racing
under a new set of rules, with their engines limited to a maximum
compression ratio of 9.0 to 1 and a 360 cubic inch size limit (370 c.i. for
Mopars). The 24 Raceway tech staff will be checking for complience with both
on the top finishers following each feature. The track's phone is
660-269-9300. Updated rules concerning all five classes are available on the
web site of
www.24racewayinmoberly.com , but be sure to look under the forum
section. Just a few concrete pads remain available for this 2008 season, but
are on the 1st come - 1st rented availabilty. |
