MOBERLY, MO (May 20) - The fast racing action returns to 24 Raceway, this Saturday with the Winged Outlaw Warriors in their 360 cubic inch Sprints. This will be the 10th annual "Gary Scott Memorial" race, dedicated to a fallen sprints driver who lost his life while racing in sprint car competition in Iowa, a little over a decade ago. Last year's W.O.W. winner at 24 Raceway, Jon Corbin, will return to defend his win, along with the others from last year's top six: Terry Hinck, Jonathan Cornell, Rusty Potter, Curtis Evans & Curtis Boyer, in some very fast and exciting Sprint car racing! These are the guys who have hit those 122 mph speeds at this Moberly track. A-Modifieds will not be racing for this week only, but the four regular classes of B-modifieds, Sportsman, Hobby Stock and Hornet classes will be competing in their weekly racing program. Adult ticket prices for this Saturday are $17 with children, 12 and under, admitted free. Gates open at 4pm. Pit passes are $30 for this night. It will be a fast night of racing at 24 Raceway on May 23rd, with the first heats begining at 7pm this Saturday, and featuring the first of three scheduled Sprint car shows for 2009. A short driver's meeting will take place at 6pm, followed by hot laps, starting at 6:15. Please see the website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com for additional info. The fast action will take place again on these high banks, east of Moberly, Missouri on U.S. Highway 24 this coming Saturday. Kids, ages 0 to 7 and 8 to 12, can enter a coloring of the night's picture at the Junior Fan Club table for a chance to win souvenior booth gift certificates. And finally, to help celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the facility, a Miss 24 Raceway will be picked from this year's entrants to preside over the trophy presentations for the 2009 season.
