SSAUTOSPORT.COM ALL STAR RACE WITH CHURCH BULLETIN DISCOUNT NITE UP NEXT AT 24 RACEWAY
by  Ron Lueck - 24 Raceway

MOBERLY, MO (August 24) - Saturday August 29th, the points racing season will have winners determined in all five of the classes competing at Moberly's 24 Raceway for the season championships.  Currently, the close races are in the B-Modifieds and Hobby Stock classes with the leaders only up by 8 points in each of those two classes.  Sportsman class racers have the next closest grouping with the leader in front by only 14 points.  But even the A-mods and Hornets are not decided just yet.

This Saturday will be a fan appreciation of sorts.  Each person will need to bring a recent church bulletin to the main ticket booth at the southwest corner of the racetrack to receive $5 off the regular admission into the grandstand.  Since the admission will only be $10, the bulletin will get that adult person in for half price.  Groups are welcome and the north end of the grandstand area will be reserved for these.

Following the feature races will be the annual ssautosport.com All-Star race.  The five classes that have competed each of the Saturday nights from the 2009 season will race in an 8-lap event.  The winner of each of these additional 8-lap races for all of the five weekly classes of A-modifieds, B-mods, Sportsman, Hobby Stock and 4 cylinder Hornets will get their car's picture posted for the 2010 season on the website banner for  www.24racewayinmoberly.com .  As a bonus, each winner will get a large bottle of Pig in a Polka meat tenderizer this Saturday.

Be sure to check the list below for the preliminary qualifying list of the drivers having already made it into the All-Star race, sponsored by  ssautosport.com.  Those already qualified for this All-star race are those teams finishing in the top 5 in season points, along with any drivers having won a feature during the 2009 season.  As of this writing, the A-modified class has that largest number of qualifiers at 10 racecars.  In addition, the driver winning the feature this Saturday, along with the various heat winners on this night, will also qualify for the All Star race.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

Aug 29  - Annual ssautosport.com race for photo to be included in website banner.  A most-recent CHURCH Bulletin will be good for $5 off admission into grandstands.

    Sept. 5  - One-day 8th annual Speedbowl 2009 event.  A-Mods will race for a $2009 prize

Sept. 5  - Red Cross Blood Drive earlier in the afternoon at the grandstand area.  And $1 hot dog nite too.

Sept. 12 - Annual B-Modified Championship Shootout, sponsored by MHC Kenworth of Columbia.

The team standings for the 2009 points from all five of the classes of A-mods, B-mods, Sportsman, Hobby Stocks & 4 clyinder Hornets is available on the website of www.24racewayinmoberly.com  by hitting the points button at the top of the home page.  Recent results from the 2009 season races can be viewed in the same fashion on that website and both are a direct link with a connection to www.speednetdirect.com .  Action photos from 24 Raceway can be viewed at www.photogliff.com with ordering available off that website, for professional shots of both driver and racecar, and that too, is only a click away on that same home page.  Along with Churdh Bulletin night, this will also be an Autism Awarness night.  After a week off, "Dirt Track Racing at its Best" happens again on August 29th at 24 Raceway, east of Moberly, Missouri on U.S. Highway 24.  Kids 12 and under are free to the grandstands and the stands will open at 4 pm to watch the Annual ssautosport.com race for the banner braggin' rights.  Pit passes will be $25.  Racing starts at 7 p.m. with hot laps at 6:15 following a short drivers' meeting.
