MOBERLY, MO (March 9) - Two weekends of daytime practice are set for March 27th and 28th, and also for April 3rd and maybe even Easter Sunday the 4th, in Moberly, MO. And then the racing returns to 24 Raceway with the USMTS coming to the half mile dirt track featuring those fast modifieds of the United States Modified Touring Series on the opeing night of April 10. Grandstand ticket prices for this rather big event have been rolled back to a more affordable $15 this year. Practice will be Saturday and Sunday at 24 Raceway for the next two weekends during daytime hours only. The track will be available for practice time from Noon to dusk for qualified drivers of all classes with a $13 admission per person entering the pit area. A signed release will be mandatory. This practice includes all the classes that compete at 24 Raceway along with any late models, sprints and classic dwarf cars wishing to attend. General bleacher viewing is free, but concessions will be open only in the pit area. Tire rules are unchanged for the 2010 racing season at 24 Raceway for this coming year. Both the American Racer and Hoosier tires are allowed for competing and will be available for purchase. And these would be the IMCA approved hard compound tires, and are for sale in both the tall & short sizes. Fuel sales will be going on again this season, with both the Sunoco 110 octane race fuel and also a methanol blend available. Both fuel and tires can be purchased on the upcoming practice days. Updated rules, with a few changes being incorporated, and concerning all five classes set to race at 24 Raceway are available on the web site of www.24racewayinmoberly.com under the forum section. These rules are closely modeled after IMCA rules. Track memberships can be paid anytime during these two weekends with the forms being completed at the pit booth. And concrete pad rentals can also be reserved for the 2010 season on these practice weekends. There are still pad availabilities and are on the 1st come - 1st rented availabilty. A laminated and coded 2010 season pass to the bleachers for all scheduled 27 racing dates, is available at a $225 fee. And finally, the text messaging service is once again being made available to cell phone numbers, entered on the appropriate 24 Raceway form with the phone owner's signature attached. Ask at the pit booth for signing on to this service if weather situations, cancelations and general track news are desired to be texted to your cell phone. The 2010 schedule is undergoing negotiations for two different events, set for May 15 and the June 18 & 19 weekend, and will be released as soon as those dates are closer to confirmation.
