by: Dana Royer/34 Raceway
West Burlington, Ia (April 3, 2006) - The 2006 racing season for the local race
track will kick off Saturday, April 8 when the Deery Brothers Summer Series for
IMCA Late Models makes its first of two stops at 34 Raceway this year. A total
of twenty seven nights of racing are scheduled for the 2006 season and along
with its regular Saturday night action will see five specials scheduled
throughout the year.
New to 34 Raceway this year will be the IMCA Stock Cars, who will be replacing
the 2 Person Thunder Cars.
Other classes returning will be IMCA Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, B-Mods and
Hobby Stocks.
Track owner, Johnny Johnson announced at the 2005 season banquet in January that
he was adding money to the purse for the 2006 season. The payout for the IMCA
late Models will remain as it was at $700 to win and $100 to start the 24 car
field making 34 Raceway's payout the most attractive in the Tri-state area.
The popular Sprint Invaders will converge on the 3/8 mile banked track five
nights this year, while the UMP Late Models make a return appearance on July 12.
The 2006 season will wind up with the 15th annual Deery Brothers & Ideal Ready
Mix Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals for the Deery Brothers IMCA Summer Series.
Built in 1966 34 Raceway will be observing its 40th year this year providing
fans, young and old, with the thrills of auto racing.
If you havenšt been to 34 Raceway recently , owner Johnny Johnson and promoter
Terry Hoenig invite you to bring the family and check out one of Iowa's best
racing facilities.
Admission prices will remain the same this year at $8 for adults, $7 for seniors
and students and 10 and under FREE. Race fans will see a change as they head to
