Johnny Johnson honored 34 Raceway holds 2006 Season Awards

BURLINGTON, IA (Jan. 20, 2007) 34 Raceway hosted its annual Racing Awards
Banquet for the 2006 season at the Howard Johnson Inn in Burlington Saturday,
January 20. The evening included a meal, awards, presentations and live music.
Racers finishing in the top ten were honored and presented with point checks,
individual results sheets and engraved picture collages.
In the fall of 2006, track owner, Johnny Johnson, sold the track to Jeff and Amy
Laue of Burlington. Johnson received special honors from both the 34 Raceway
employees and the new owners. A trophy with engraving thanking Johnson for his
dedication and contribution to 34 Raceway was given by Terry and Jenni Hoenig
and track employees. Jeff and Amy Laue also presented Johnson with a special
engraved stone featuring Johnsonıs familiar #99 late model and the 34 Raceway
logo as well as presenting him with a lifetime pass to 34 Raceway. After saying
a few words, the crowd of over 400 in attendance gave him a standing ovation.
The 2007 season at 34 Raceway will kick off with the annual car show at Westland
Mall in West Burlington on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25. Practice day is
set for March 31 and the racing season begins on Saturday, April 7 with the
Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. The Deery Brothers IMCA Summer Series will be
held April 14 and points races begin April 21.
