34 Raceway Car Show & Kick Off Party will kick off 2008 season March 29 and 30 BURLINGTON, IA (Mar 24) - In less than a month dirt track racers will hit the 34 Raceway 3/8 mile track with the first race of the 2008 season set for April 12. But before the drivers take to the dirt, 34 Raceway will host its annual car show. The Whitey¹s Bar & Billards 34 Raceway Westland Mall Car Show will be held Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30 at Westland Mall, West Burlington during regular mall hours. Over 50 cars will pack the mall so race fans can get a sneak peak at just some of the cars that will take to the 34 Raceway track this year. Classes represented will be J & J Steel Ideal Ready Mix IMCA Late Models, Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds, Mike¹s Auto Parts IMCA Stock Cars, Pepsi Hobby Stocks, Sebastian Sandblasting 305 Sprints, 4 Cylinders and vintage cars. The mall show is a chance for race fans to see the cars up close, visit with the drivers, check out the sponsors for the upcoming racing season, get track information, register and buy season passes all in one convenient, climate controlled location. Added this year to the annual car show weekend will be a Season Kickoff Party with a band at Whitey¹s Bar & Billards (located at 2601 Madison Ave., in Burlington) from 6:00-8:00 p.m. an all you can eat $5 pizza buffet will be available. The band will begin playing at 9:00 pm.. All drivers, crews and fans are invited. The 2007 season, under new ownership of Jeff and Amy Laue, saw an average of 110 cars competing each Saturday night in five classes of racing. The 2008 season looks to be even beter with a number of special events planned throughout the year.
