J & J Steel continues sponsorship of Ironman awards, special
race
WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (Jan. 23) – What promises to be a record- setting
season for the Deery Brothers Summer Series features contingency awards at
every event and a special race in September sponsored by J & J Steel.
The West Burlington, Iowa, chassis, race car parts and accessories retailer
will give a $100 prod uct certificate to the driver advancing the most
positions from start to finish at each IMCA Late Model tour event in 2009.
J & J Steel also returns as title sponsor of the special Ironman Challenge,
open to all drivers with perfect series atten dance competing at the Sept.
18-19 Pepsi USA Nationals at 34 Raceway.
That race pays $750 to win and a minimum of $200 to start.
Drivers are required to display two J & J Steel decals on their race car to
be eli gible for Ironman contingency awards.
“Having J & J Steel back as our Ironman partner is a testament to how
successful the program has become,” said Tour Director Kevin Yoder.
“We have had more drivers follow the entire series each of the past three
years, highlighted by a record 17 drivers with perfect attendance last
season.”
A record 22 races are scheduled this year, with opening night set for April
11 at 34.
The 23rd annual series also sports stops at Boone Speedway, Davenport
Speedway, Fayette County Speedway in West Union, Hawkeye Downs Speedway in
Cedar Rapids, Highway 3 Raceway in Allison, Cresco Speedway, I-35 Speedway
in Mason City, Independence Motor Speedway, the Iowa State Fairgrounds
Speedway in Des Moines, Jackson County Speedway in Maquoketa, Knoxville
Raceway, Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, Marshalltown Speedway, Quincy,
Ill., Raceway, Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa and Upper Iowa Speedway
in Decorah.
