Coming up this Saturday at 34 Raceway will be Fleck Sales/Miller Lite Fan Appreciation Mid Season Championship Night with GRANDSTAND ADMISSION JUNE 27 JUST $5.00. You won’t want to miss the J & J Steel/ Ideal Ready Mix late models as they go topless. Come check out the late models as they take their tops off and race for the mid-season championship. Heats will be run - inverted by point average for all classes, then the features will be lined straight up by points.. Also running will be the Sebastian Sandblasting 305 sprints, the Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds, Mike’s Auto parts IMCA Stock Cars and Pepsi Hobby Stocks .

The Miller Lite IMCA Modifieds took to the track for some non stop action going flag to flag. Brandon Savage took the lead from Dustan Fenton on lap two and led the field around the 3/8 mile for the next sixteen laps working to hold off Lonnie Heap throughout. With two laps to go, Josh Foster, who had moved to the second spot from his midfield start passed Savage coming out of turn four for the lead and went on to take the checkered flag for the second straight week, his fifth win this year at 34. Savage who ran a strong race finished second followed by Scott Hogan who moved all the way up to third from his eleventh row start.

Nineteen Sebastian Sandblasting 305 Sprints set the field for their twenty lap race with Patrick Moore and Cale Hutchings on the front row. Five time 34 Raceway winner, Bobby Mincer, was out early when on the start Mincer flipped several times in turns one and two. When racing resumed Moore took the early lead with Tony Davis and Hetrick close behind. Six laps into the race, Jayson Ditsworth was dialed in and moved into second from his sixth row start. Ditsworth took the lead on lap eight following a caution and would pull away from the field. A caution on lap ten closed the field on the restart, but Ditsworth was able to pull away again with Hetrick in second. Another caution on lap sixteen closed the leader’s gap again and this time Hetrick took advantage. On lap eighteen Kevin passed Ditsworth in turn two for the lead then another caution came out on lap nineteen making for a green, white, checkered finish. Hetrick held his lead and went on to take the checkered flag for the third time this year.
Ditsworth finished second followed by Matt Krieger, John Draper and Moore.

New London’s Jeff Mueller won his second straight IMCA Stock Car feature, and his third in four races, topping the twenty two car field. Nick Fenton and Cory Strothman led the field around the 3/8 mile for the start of the twenty lap feature with Strothman taking the early lead. Strothman led the field for the next six laps before the first of three cautions came out on lap seven. Cale Samberg pulled up along side Strothman on lap seven and took the lead on lap eight. Samberg held his lead for the next six laps until he got too high in turn three and Mueller slipped underneath for the lead. The third and final caution came out on lap sixteen and Darin Thye moved into the second spot on the restart. Mueller held on to his lead for the final laps to get his third win this year. Thye finished second followed by Samberg, Greg Johnson and John Oliver, Jr.

Twenty J & J Steel/Ideal Ready Mix IMCA Late Models set out for their twentyfive lap feature with Boone McLaughlin and Nate Bueseling on the front row. A jack rabbit start caused a near pile up of cars and the first of just two yellows came out. With the leaders sent to the rear of the field that put Sam Halstead and Denny Woodworth on the front row. Halstead took the early lead of the twentyfive lap feature with the two racing side by side and bumper to bumper exchanging positions for the first 7 laps. Woodworth suddenly pulled into the pits on lap eight giving Halstead the lead. Halstead led the next three laps until Matt Bailey would pass him in turn four for the sixth lead change of the race. Bailey lead the field for the next three laps when Mark Burgtorf challenged him pulling up along side.
On lap fifteen, Burgtorf would pass Bailey for the lead and went on to pull away from the field. With Burgtorf out in front a three way battle for second was going on behind him between Bailley, Jay Johnson, and Lonnie Bailey. With two laps to go, Lonnie Bailey would pass his son, Matt, for the second spot as Burgtorf took the win, his third this year. Tommy Elston moved up from mid field to finish third followed by Matt Bailey and Jay Johnson.

Three lead changes made for an exciting Pepsi Hobby Stock feature with Derek St. Clair, Donnellson, getting the win. Eric Rowley took the early lead in the nineteen car, fifteen lap feature holding on for the first two laps. On lap three Ray Raker would pass Rowley in turn two leading the next two laps before a red flag camp out for Dean Kratzer. For the second time this year at 34 Raceway, Kratzer took a hard roll in turn three but was able to walk away. After the restart, Jason Gerdes took his turn at the lead getting by Raker on lap seven. The two raced bumper to bumper for the next four laps joined by St. Clair. On lap thirteen St. Clair pulled along side Gerdes as they passed the stands and one lap later, St. Clair took the final lead change of the race. On the final lap the two would bump each other coming out of four with Gerdes getting a little sideways. St Clair went on to take the checkered flag followed by Raker, Thanner Thomann and Gerdes.
