$10,000 to win Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals Sept. 18 and 19

BURLINGTON, IA (Sept 15) - For the eighteenth consecutive year, 34 Raceway,
located 4 miles west of West Burlington, Iowa will host its annual J & J
Steel/Ideal Ready Mix Pepsi USA Late Model Nationals on Friday and Saturday
Sept. 18 and 19. The best in IMCA Late Model racers, in the final stop for
the IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series, will take to the track both nights
competing for a spot in the $10,000 to win 100 lap late model feature on
Saturday night.
Friday nights action will include time trials and exciting qualifying races.
The J & J Steel Iron Man Challenge, for those drivers with perfect
attendance for the 2009 Deery Brothers Summer Series. $700 will go to the
winner of the challenge. Also on Friday will be the IMCA Stock Cars and TQ
Midgets in heat races and features.
Then come back on Saturday night to see qualifying for the late models as
drivers get one last chance for a spot in the 26 car 100 lap feature. Also
running on Saturday will be the Hobby Stocks and I- Wireless/Louisa
Communications 4 Cylinders racing heats and features.
In 2008 Fifty five late models with Burlington’s Matt Strassheim getting the
win. The race had to be rescheduled due to 7 inches of rain and was run in
one night, instead of two.
Pit gates open at 4:00, grandstand gates open at 5:00. Late Model Time
Trials will begin at 7:00 Friday night and qualifying races will begin at
7:00 on Saturday night. Special two day passes are being offered. For more
