win and Jeff Mueller and Jake Wenig both got repeat wins in the Mikes IMCA
Stock Car feature and Pepsi Hobby Stock feature respectively. The thirteen
legend cars took to the 3/8 mile with Brett Diercks, Bettendorf getting the

Dennis LaVeine, West Burlington, returned to the winners circle after two
long years Saturday night winning the eighteen car Miller Lite IMCA Modified
feature. LaVeine took the lead from Chris Horn on lap five of the twenty lap
race but would give it up to Jeff Waterman on lap eight. Waterman would pull
away but on lap suddenly pull into the pits on lap twelve giving LaVeine his
lead back. LaVeine again would lose his lead onlap foureen following a
caution to Brandon Rothzen. Rothzen led the next two laps before LaVeine
would again get his lead back for the third time and would begin to pull
away from the field as he went on to take the checkered flag.
The Mikes Auto Parts IMCA Stock Cars put on a show and wowed the crowd with
their bumper to bumper side by side action. Shane Watts took the early lead
of the race and led for the first ten laps in the fifteen car field. It was
bumper to bumper for the top five or even six at times throughout the twenty
lap race. Jeff Mueller would pull ahead of Watts on the back stretch midway
through the race for the lead. Still a close battle for the top five and six
would thrill the fans as Jason Cook gets by Watts for second with three laps
to go. But it was tough luck for Cook when he brought out a yellow flag when
he stopped on the back stretch with car problems giving the second spot to
Watts. With Mueller still in the lead it was a green, white, checkered
finish. Mueller went on to take the checkered flag followed by Watts and
Chris Webb who passed Kirk Kinsly on the final lap to finish third.
Nineteen W.T. Gabeline and Sons 305 Sprints checked into the pit area with
seventeen starting their feature race. Dustin Clark, in his second night out
at 34 Raceway would take the early lead from his front row start. Clark led
the field for the next eighteen laps before a red flag would come out with
two laps to go. When racing resumed Clark would hold on to his lead ahead of
Patrick Moore and went on to get his first ever sprint feature win.
Jake Wenig made it back to back wins for the Burlington driver in the Pepsi
Hobby Stock division. Travis Plummer took the early lead holding off Dan
Wenig and Jake Wenig for the first seven laps of the fifteen lap race. A
caution on lap nine allowed Wenig to make his move as he passed Plummer for
the lead. Wenig went on to pull away at the end for the win as Ray Raker
passed Dane Fenton in the battle for second .
