8th Annual Memphis Fall Nationals This Weekend

Memphis, MO (Wednesday, October 15, 2014) – If you missed the “Grand Nationals” at the Scotland County Speedway in Memphis, Missouri at the end of September, then you missed some great six wide racing action. Well good new for all of you as this weekend, Friday, October 17th and Saturday, October 18th, is your final chance of 2014 to catch some more great racing action at the “Widest Track In The Midwest”. Which will play host to the 8th Annual Memphis Fall Nationals, thanks to PEPSI Memphis Bottling Co., Nutz Graphix and Vinyl LLC, Monte Motor Parts, Golden Furrow Fertilizer, 79s See Racing, and United Country Real Estate.
Fans will have a chance to catch former NASCAR star Ken Schrader in action both nights in his Modified, for the first time in the tracks history. So make sure you make plans to attend one or both nights of racing!
The action will kick-off on Friday, October 17th with heats, semis where needed, and features in the Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods, Hobby Stocks and Sport Compacts using a draw / redraw format. A minimum of $700 to win for the Modifieds, with a possible $1,000 to win with 30+ cars, with the Stock Cars and SportMods going for a minimum of $500 to win, with a possible $700 to win with 30+ cars. The Hobby Stocks will be racing for a minimum of $400 to win, with a possibility of racing for $600 to win with 30+ cars, while the Sport Compacts will be going for a minimum of $250 to win, with a possibility of racing for $400 to win with 30+ cars. Even though there is a complete show and payout on Friday, the top 3 finishers in all five features will be locked into Saturday’s A Mains. Those top 3 finishers will join the top 2 finishers in each of Saturday’s heat races to run a dash that will help determine where they will start the A Main.
Then on Saturday, October 18th the Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks will all be racing for a top prize of $1,000 to win, while the Sport Compacts are racing for a top prize of $500 to win. Everyone will draw for their starting spots for the heat races, with semis being ran where needed, and then dashes to help determine the starting spots in the features.
There is an entry fee to race both nights, as Friday will be $20 for all classes. Then on Saturday it will be $50 for the Modifieds, Stock Cars, SportMods, and Hobby Stocks, with the Sport Compacts entry fee set at $30.
The following rules will be used for the “Memphis Fall Nationals” weekend: All IMCA rules apply for the Modifeds except American Racer or Hoosier G60 tires may be used, with grooving allowed only on the front. Aluminum headed motors must add 50 lbs. of lead on the front by the motor. Roller motors and stud girdles are legal. Quick Change rear ends are legal. Rear suspension must be IMCA legal. Front tubular okay. Aluminum calipers are okay. Fuel pump on transmission is legal. 7800 RPM chip must be ran with all open motors. No rear spoiler, unless running a 604 Crate per IMCA rules. Stock Cars will also run under all IMCA rules, with the exception of American Racer or Hoosier G60 tires may be used, with grooving allowed only on the front. Plus aftermarket blocks are okay to use in the Stock Cars. SportMods will follow IMCA or USRA rules, with the exception of American Racer or Hoosier G60 tires may be used, with grooving allowed only on the front. Hobby Stocks will use all IMCA rules, with the exception that a floater rear end being legal. Sport Compacts will follow all IMCA rules.
Pit gates on Friday will open at 5:00 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 5:30 p.m. Hot laps are at 7:00 p.m. and racing starts at 7:30 p.m. Then on Saturday night the pit gates will open at 4:00 p.m. and the grandstand opens at 4:30 p.m. Hot laps will begin at 6:00 p.m. and racing kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
Friday’s pit passes will be $25, ages (7-13) $15, and ages 6 & under $10, with the grandstands being adults $12, students (7-16) $6, and kids 6 & under FREE! Then on Saturday the pit passes will be $30, ages (7-13) $20, and ages 6 & under $10, with the grandstands being adults $15, students (7-16) $7, and kids 6 & under FREE!
