After Night Two, Davey Heskin and Sammy Swindell Tied for Lead in the Cox Design Iowa Speed Week Points
KNOXVILLE, IOWA (August 1, 2014) – With his win in the second preliminary main of the Arnold Motor Supply 360-cubic-inch Knoxville Nationals on Friday at Knoxville Raceway, two-time “Mr. Sprint Car” Sammy Swindell of Tennessee has joined Davey Heskin of Minnesota as the early leaders of the 2014 Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week point standings. Night number three is Saturday, August 2, with the finale of the Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals, plus a points-paying feature for the winged 305-cubic-inch sprint cars. The ‘360’ Nationals are sanctioned by the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS).
The unofficial top sixteen in the 2014 Cox Design Iowa Speed Week points after two nights is as follows: 1., Davey Heskin, Sammy Swindell, 50 points (tied); 3., Jason Johnson, Mark Dobmeier, 49 points (tied); 5., Brian Brown, Tony Bruce, Jr., 48 points (tied); 7., Joe Beaver, Ian Madsen, 47 points (tied); 9., Lee Grosz, Bronson Maeschen, 46 points (tied); 11., Casey Friedrichsen, Terry McCarl, 45 points (tied); 13., Jamie Ball, Wayne Johnson, 44 points (tied); 15., Kevin Swindell, Dusty Zomer, 43 points (tied).
The Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Iowa Speed Week includes ten points-paying sprint car feature races in ten days, July 31 – August 9, between the Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville and the Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa. The top three places pay $2,500, $1,000, and $500, respectively, with the winner declared the Jesse Hockett “Mr. Sprint Car” titlist.
