Ideal Ready Mix, WWJ Motorsports give new awards to Deery Series drivers

WEST BURLINGTON, Iowa (April 17) – Deery Brothers Summer Series drivers are in the running for new awards this season from Ideal Ready Mix and WWJ Motorsports.

Hard chargers at each of the 21 events in the IMCA Late Model tour receive $100 product certificates, good toward the purchase of race parts from WWJ Motorsports.

Ideal Ready Mix Ironman Challenge cash bonuses of $99 go to drivers with perfect attendance through the first 16 events who qualify for each of the final five features, the Pepsi USA Nationals at 34 Raceway on Sept. 1, the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals at Boone Speedway Sept. 3, the Yankee Dirt Track Classic Sept. 14 and 15 at Farley Speedway, and Sept. 22 at Davenport Speedway.

The $99 dollar amount is in recognition of the car number of the late Johnny Johnson, who had owned the West Burlington-based concrete supplier as well as 34 Raceway.

“The bonuses are a great incentive to drivers to follow the series,” noted Ideal’s Wayne Johnson. “They can make close to $500 with perfect attendance and then qualifying for the feature each of the last five nights.”

“The Challenge replaces the Ironman race that been held late in the season,” he added, “because there aren’t any two-day shows on the schedule this year.”

All series drivers must display two Ideal Ready Mix decals to be eligible for hard charger or Challenge awards.

“The Johnson family has been instrumental in the advancement of the IMCA Late Model division and to continue our Ironman program with a new twist is really gratifying and a testament to their continuing dedication,” IMCA Marketing Director Kevin Yoder said. “Every driver following the entire series will now have the opportunity to receive the same bonus and it really exemplifies what being a true Ironman is all about.”

“We are thrilled with new partnership with Ideal Ready Mix and the chance to maintain Johnny’s legacy,” he concluded.

More information about the award program is available from Yoder at the IMCA home office, 319 472-2201.
