New USRA Modified Point Leaders At Springfield Raceway As POWRi Midgets Visit Town
SPRINGFIELD, MO (June 5, 2012) – Going into this Saturday’s Green Lawn Funeral Homes sponsored POWRi Midget event, there are 2 new point leaders on top of the leader board in both of the USRA Sanction Modified Divisions.
Following his win last Saturday Night,5 time track champion Jackie Dalton has climbed back into the number 1 spot in the tracks Modified point standings. Dalton was able to take advantage of both Mitch Keeter and Bobby Pearish dropping out of the feature and now finds himself with a 26 point lead over Keeter as round number 7 of the Transport Graphics Championship Chase continues.Very close behind Keeter is 3 time feature winner Bobby Pearish only 7 markers behind Keeter while John Yeoman and Erik Maggard complete the top 5 as so far 4 different winners out of 6 point races have kept things very close.
A new point leader in the USRA B-Modifieds now finds Mike Hailmann not only leading the Legends points but also the B-Modifieds.Hailman with 1 feature win took advantage of point leader Scott Drake dropping out early last week and has vaulted to a 1 point advantage over Drake.Springfield’s Brandon maggard who has 2 feature wins moved into the third spot only 11 markers out of the lead while Kaleb Copher and Jon Yeoman Jr complete the top 5.
Hailmann also tops the Legend Cars division after driving an unfamiliar car to the winners circle last week. While Hailmann’s own car was being worked on,Bill Cottrill loaned him his car and watched it go to the winners circle.Only 5 points separate Hailmann and Veteran Wayne Johnston while former champion Justin Comer is only 7 out of the top spot.Young Caleb McDugle and Billy Cottrill complete the top 5 with alot of racing left to do this season.
Defending Midwest Modified champion Trevor Drake added to his lead with a feature win as the battle for second is very tight.Taylor Moore,Rusty Forrest,Todd McGregor and Charlie Gentile are locked in a tight race for positions.
Defending Pure Stock Champion Jack Hamer hold a narrow 6 point lead over last weeks winner Brett Testerman while Philip Schloesser,Tyler Thulin and Lenny Bell complete the top 5 in this growing and exciting class. Hamer has the experience but the pack behind him are all either first or second year drivers making it fun each week.
Springfield’s Jim Reid will enter this weekend as the Street Stock point leader after grabbing his second win of the season with an eight point margin over opening night winner Wayne Morris.Early season point leader Bryan Tillman,Wayne Bysor and Daniel Deason round out the top 5.
