Wietholder Rides to Summit Modified Nationals Victory at Spoon River
BANNER, Ill. – June 19, 2012 – David Wietholder of Liberty, Ill., claimed his first ever Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals win at Spoon River Speedway on Tuesday night worth a hefty $1,000.
Wietholder held off a charging Bobby Allen of nearby Canton, Ill., over 25 laps to become the sixth different winner in as many races on the 2012 edition of the Summit Modified Nationals tour. Allen finished second and claimed the races fastest lap in the process on lap 19. Billy Tuckwell of Peoria, Ill., finished third. Ray Bollinger of Kewanee, Ill., and Butch Weisser also of Peoria, Ill., rounded out the top five.

The DIRTcar Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals returns to action Wednesday night at Highland Speedway in Highland, Ill., where NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader bested 37 DIRTcar UMP Modifieds in 2011.
