IMCA race calendar filled with events leading up to, on July 4
VINTON, Iowa (June 28, 2012) – IMCA special events and special series races combine with regular race programs for a busy week leading up to Independence Day.
A pair of Powder Werks North Star Series events are on tap over the weekend. IMCA Modifieds, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars, IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks, Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts contend Friday, June 29 at Murray County Speedway and Sunday, July 1 at Redwood Speedway.
On Saturday, June 30, Modifieds race for $1,500 to win at Bakersfield Speedway’s McGowan Memorial and Stock Cars vie for $1,000 to win in the opening event for the Dominic Bruns Memorial Challenge Cup Chase at Jackson Speedway.
Texas Thunder Speedway hosts Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and SportMods following the Lone Star Series on July 1. The Modified feature pays $1,000 to win and champions will be crowned in both the Stock Car and Hobby Stock portions of the tour.
Monday, July 2 sees the Deery Brothers Summer Series at Independence Motor Speedway, the World Products Empire State Series at Five Mile Point Speedway and the World Products Stock Car Shootout at Buena Vista Raceway.
Independence hosts the IMCA Late Model tour for the 25th time and will pay $2,525 to the feature winner that evening. Top prize for the Empire State event, rescheduled from April because of inclement weather, is $400. The program at BVR doubles as the Kyle Suter Memorial.
The JR Motorsports Hawkeye Dirt Tour is at Algona Raceway for a $1,000 to win show on Tuesday, July 3.
Marshalltown Speedway and Southern Iowa Speedway open the gates to Shootout series events July 3 and Wednesday, July 4, respectively.
Winners of the three Stock Car Shootout headliners, Northern SportMod features at Marshalltown and Oskaloosa, and the Modified main event at Osky all earn $1,000.
O’Leary Racing Products Blood, Sweat and Tears West Series Modifieds and Stock Cars are at Phillips County Raceway on Independence Day.
Northern SportMods and Mach-1 Sport Compacts are on the July 4 program at Stuart Raceway in Nebraska.
