Ross, Asher, Dishong and Raffurty Reign Supreme at the Sauter Memorial at US 36 Raceway!!!!

 

WINSTON, MO (April 16, 2022) – US 36 Raceway would like to sincerely thank the family of Raymond “Stinker” Sauter for this night of great racing action in memory and honor of a man taken way too soon.

#46 Dillon Raffurty from Kansas City, KS ModLite Feature Winner!!!
IMCA ModLites would get the show started with Dillon Raffurty #46 from Kansas City, MO being the car to beat. Dillon would set the standard early leading and winning the heat race the cruising to victory for his first ever win on the high banks of US 36 Raceway. Michael Raffurty #41 and Justin Raffurty #75 would battle for second with Michael winning the battle leaving Justin to place third on the night. Fourth place would see a fast #17 of Kyle Guy with former winner Ed Griggs #47 rounding out the top five.

#54L Chris “Rowdy” Dishong from Atchison, KS E-Mod Feature Winner!!!!
E-Modified would see a familiar face out front winning both heat race and feature in his Lewis owned #54L. Chris Dishong would be challenged early and often by #68 Aaron Jones as the two would battle for the top spot. Up and comer Chance Brune would have a stellar night behind the wheel of his #22C winning his heat race and leading early racing against the very best. Dishong would pick up the win, Jones would place a close second and Brune third. Fourth and fifth would not be decided until the final laps as Lane Matthews #11M would hold off a fast Coleman Browning #21K to finish fourth leaving Browning to fifth on the night. Other heat race winners were Justin Asher #74 and Randy Smith Jr driving the Cadwallader #69.

#20X Mich Ross from Maysville, MO Pure Stock Feature Winner!!!!
Domination is the word used to describe the performance of Mich Ross aboard #20X Pure Stock on this night of competition. Winning both heat race and feature in a loaded field of competitors is never an easy task but this is exactly what Ross would do. Once out-front he would be challenged by #32R Evan Rhea but would slowly pull away and on to victory leaving rhea to place second. Other heat race winner Mike Miller #M4 was in the thick of the front battle finishing third with hard Charger winner Colton Couch #13X fourth and Tyler Starmer #11S fifth.

#73T Truman Asher from St Joseph, MO Sport/B Mod Feature Winner!!!
Sport/B Mods would only see one caution in their action filled feature event of the Sauter Memorial. Heat winner Logan Anderson#53 would work his way to the front early challenged by another heat winner Truman Asher #73T. It appeared Anderson was the car to beat until lap traffic would come into play for the leaders. Anderson would get boxed in by lap cars and Asher would take advantage maneuvering lap cars to perfection and taking the top spot. Matt Dotson #88D would slip by Anderson as well to challenge Asher as well as Tyler Cadwallader whom made a spectacular move splitting cars to move into contention. Asher would not be denied and settle in to Nextran Victory Lane with heat winner Dotson a very close second and Cadwallader third. Anderson would slip to fourth and another heat race winner Chriss Wright would round out the night’s top five.

#34X Mich Ross from Maysville, MO Stock Car Feature Winner!
Mich Ross #34X, Derek Brown #11, Carson Masoner #20X and Craig Reynolds #1R would all win their perspective heat races setting the stage for a battle at the front of the field when it came feature time. Ross and brown would wrestle the lead away from a fast Carson Masoner to only see Craig Reynolds charge to the front doing battle every lap. As laps slipped away, Ross and Brown would race side by side every lap with Ross top side and Brown low side. Each turn Brown would dive inside Ross but not quite able to take the front as Ross would charge back by on top. This continued every lap and Ross would nip Brown by half a car length at the line. Ross could celebrate two victories in one night claiming the big Sauter Memorial check as well. Brown would race very clean and finish the night second with Masoner third. Tim Eaton #211 and Doug Keller #7 would race each other the entire feature with Eaton fourth and Keller fifth respectively.
