Stovall Soars in Liberty 50

| July 1, 2012

CORNING, IOWA (June 30, 2012) – Driving David Turner’s race car, Jesse Stovall powered around Jason O’Brien and rolled on to score his first win with the Lucas Oil MLRA in the Liberty 50. “The race car was really good,” Stovall commented on his run at the Adams County Speedway. “My car kept steering really well. I noticed a lot of the guys, they couldn’t steer through the corner as good. This has been kind of a long weekend. We hurt a motor last night, in our car we had up here for our primary. Scott Bailey and David Turner were nice enough to let me use it. That’s just an awesome race car.”

Terry Phillips sat on the pole and ran in the runner up position for the majority of the race. Chad Simpson finished third and closed on Phillips late. Prior to Stovall taking the lead, the story of the night was Atlantic, IA Jason O’Brien. He led the first thirty laps before fading to fourth. John Anderson worked up through the field to fifth. He broke the left rear chain on the rear end and wasn’t able to advance further.

Next up for the Lucas Oil MLRA will be the Diamond Nationals at Lucas Oil Speedway on Saturday, July 14th. The following Wednesday, July 18th will find the Lucas Oil MLRA at US 36 Raceway in Osborn, MO.
