Battle at the Barn V – Attracts Second NASCAR Driver Entry
DES MOINES, IOWA (December 21, 2012) – While the snow flies in the Des Moines and central Iowa area, entries are snow balling for the 2013 Battle at the Barn. Toby Kruse, Founder and Promoter of the Annual Battle at the Barn indoor races held each January at the Jacobson Building on the Iowa State Fairgrounds, is very excited to announce a second entry from a NASCAR Nationwide competitor.
Kruse has now confirmed through the Rising Star Management Group staff, that Des Moines native Michael Annett will be competing in the 360# and 390# Clone classes on Friday and Saturday night during the Battle at the Barn V.
Annett, a regular in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, finished fifth in the 2012 series points standings and is excited to be competing in an event that continues to excite and grow, right here in Des Moines – Annett’s home town. This announcement comes just on the heels of the announced entry for another Nationwide regular, Kenny Wallace.
With the announcement of Wallace’s entry and now the entry of Annett’s, Kruse has announced that a special race will be held on Friday night, “We will have a $200 to win 390 clone race on Friday night. The top 12, 390 clones from practice times will go head to head for 12 laps for $200. Wallace and Annett will be granted a provisional, should their times not fall into in the top 12during practice. This will be the final event of the night on Friday, right after the open practice for all competitors”. Kruse added, “It will be fun to see how well Michael and Kenny can do against the best kart racers from across the nation. In the karting world, our event is quickly becoming the Daytona for karts”.
The 5th Annual Battle at the Barn will take place on Friday and Saturday, January 25th & 26th, 2013. Friday doors will open at 12:00 noon with practice starting at 6:00 pm followed by the $200 to win, 390 clones – NASCAR Challenge. Doors open Saturday at 9:00 am with practice at 11:00 am, heat races at 1:30 pm and feature races starting at 7:00 pm. Two day pit passes are $35, one day pit pass $20. Friday grandstand tickets for adults and children 11 & up will be $5. Saturday grandstand only admission will be $13 with children 10 and under admitted for free. A special two day grandstand ticket will be available for only $15.
