KNOXVILLE, IA (March 6, 2013) – A group of us (the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum, Knoxville Raceway, Iowa Speedway, Hormel Meat Company, Slideways-Karting, and the Kiwanis) joined forces to support National Breakfast in the Schools week here in Knoxville, and promote a nutritious breakfast for students in the four schools here in town.
In addition to helping the kids get a good, nutritious breakfast, (pancakes, sausage, and orange juice courtesy of the Kiwanis who cook everything fresh each morning in the schools), all of us gather outside the school entrances each morning with pace vehicles, sprint cars, track mascots, and our brochures to promote sprint car racing, and other racing in the area.
This is the fifth year our museum has helped the schools and students learn more about sprint car racing, while making sure the kids get a good breakfast on the morning we visit their school.
Just one of the many activities we are involved in that don’t get a lot of press coverage, but definitely help us promote the
future of sprint car racing and the National Sprint Car hall of Fame & Museum to the Knoxville school district’s students and
faculty.
