VINTON, Iowa (May 24, 2013) – Electronic voting to determine 28 of the 30 drivers to start the Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational will again be held in July.

Using the IMCA website and Facebook page, three drivers from each of the five IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified regions will be elected through online polling from July 22-28.

Thirteen more will be elected via the IMCA Facebook page from an at-large pool of the next 25 top vote recipients between July 29-Aug. 4.

The final qualifying event for the 2013 ballot will be the July 18 Harris Clash at Knoxville Raceway.

Winners will be notified and their names announced as soon as possible after each round of voting.

Completing the starting grid for the 30-lapper will be All-Star candidates with the top national point total and the most feature wins as of Aug. 31 competing at the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s.

The invitational will be held Friday, Sept. 6 at Boone Speedway.

All-Star candidates include 2012 regional and Allstar Performance State champions, and winners of feature events paying $1,000 or more held between July 17 of 2012 and July 14, 2013.

“Last year was the first time we’d used this format for electing the All-Star field. We couldn’t have asked for more interest or better participation from fans,” IMCA Vice President of Operations Brett Root said. “The All-Star Invitational has featured top Modified drivers from coast to coast and border to border since its inception and we expect the 10th annual event to do so as well.”

All-Star drivers will draw for starting positions in front of the grandstand crowd on race night. The event will pay $1,000 to win and $100 to start.

The All-Star ballot now includes 88 candidates, the newest additions being Cayden Carter, Bobby Hogge IV and Allen Halderman.

Carter won the Karl Performance Hawkeye Dirt Tour feature at Benton County Speedway, Hogge was the Nor-Cal Series winner at Antioch Speedway and Halderman topped Thunder Hill Speedway’s Garst Memorial.
