Early entries top 70 for Harris Clash at Knoxville
KNOXVILLE, Iowa (July 12) – Early entries are already in hand from more than 70 drivers, for the 22nd annual Harris Clash next Thursday, July 18 at Knoxville Raceway.
Defending IMCA Xtreme Motor Sports Modified feature winner Kyle Strickler of Mooresville, N.C., will be joined by drivers from Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Wisconsin in pursuit of a $2,000 payday.
Matt Lettow of Roland takes aim at another $750 check in the Karl Chevrolet Northern SportMods. That division has now entries from five states.
The Modified winner earns a $500 bonus if their chassis manufacturer is among the event sponsors. IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing National, home region and Allstar Performance State points will be awarded for the 2013 Fast Shafts All-Star Invitational ballot qualifier.

Twenty-six cars comprise the grid for the Modified 25-lapper, which pays a minimum of $250 to start. The Northern SportMod feature will be 20 laps.
Pit gates open at 3 p.m., the draw closes at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:15 p.m. Grandstand admission is $15 for adults, $8 for students, $4 for kids ages 6-12 and free for youngsters five and under. Pit passes are $25. Anyone ages 12-17 must have a waiver, signed by a parent or guardian, to get into the pit area.
