DAVIS COUNTY FAIR HAS NEARLY 100 CARS IN ACTION ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Bloomfield, Iowa (July 13, 2013) – The Davis County Fair and Mountain-Dew Bloomfield Speedway seen 99 cars check into pit area for the fair race held on Saturday night with five exciting classes along with vintage stock cars in attendance from the Mississippi Valley Vintage Racing Association.
The Kirkland Auto hobby stocks were the first feature up and they had a lot of cautions that went almost 45minutes with Nick Ulin of Agency taking the win. Ulin held off several challenges from Dustin Griffiths of Ottumwa who took the second spot with Father-in-law Rocky Fosdyck of Floris taking third and son-in-law Ben Grove of Eldon in fourth.
The second feature was the Mike’s Tire & Alignment sport mods with Brett Lowery of Montezuma looking like he was going to take the checkers but a late race caution would cost him the win. Jason McDaniel of Eldon would take the lead on the restart with a green, white and checker finish with McDaniel doing it on the high side. Lowery would take second followed by Philip Cossel of Montrose who scored the win at the Lee County Fair on Friday night but took home the third spot and Ryan Fullenkamp of Bloomfield racing his way from the tail to fourth.
The Kollision Korner sport compacts went green to checkered with Kassidy Kirkpatrick of Ottumwa passing David Probasco of moulton and Larry Hopkins of Ottumwa to take the win. Probasco took second with Jim Garret of Ottumwa taking third and fourth went to Nick Vanhemert of Drakesville.
In the A-Mod feature Mike Shelton of Mike’s Tire & Alignment and Tim Winters with Southside Carwash in Bloomfield adding money for the mods so the winner took home a hefty $1000 first place prize. Ryan Cook of Concord, North Carolina looked to keep his streak alive from last year but seventeen year old Cayden Carter of Oskaloosa would spoil Cooks night taking the checkers with Cook taking the second spot. The battle for third went to Shay woods of Humiston and fourth went to Tyler Vandekamp of Ankeny taking fourth.
The last feature of the night was the Budweiser six pack shootout race number two of the six race series with another chance for a fan to qualify for the $50k giveaway. The lucky fan was Jason Glass of Memphis, Mo. Who had Todd Reitzler of Grinnell who would take the win over Jason Cook of Mount Pleasant Cook and Reitzler swapped the lead several times but when a lap car would slow on the bottom on the last lap it would give Reitzler the advantage. Cook took second with father and son Mike and Gary Harward of Floris trading paint with son Gary taking third and Mike in fourth.
The win payed Reitzler a nice $700 dollars for his effort and the trophy. Next week will be all four regular classes with Sport compacts, Hobby stocks, Stock cars and sport mods with the hobby stock special with draw/redraw $300 to win sponsored by Real tree Outdoor Energy Drink with hot laps at 6pm and racing at 6:30pm for more information visit www.racedirtbloomfield.com
