Night of Destruction returns to Davenport Speedway
Trailer Race highlights Friday Night action
DAVENPORT, Ia. (September 11, 2013) – Friday the 13th will be lucky to Quad City area motorsports enthusiasts, the Night of Destruction returns to the Davenport Speedway. The event features Cheater Races for the weekly stock car classes, and is highlighted by the crowd pleasing, Trailer Race.
The Trailer Race is a combination demolition derby and enduro. The objective is to finish the race with your trailer attached and still functional while trying to separate the trailer of your competitor’s vehicle. The Trailer Race pays $750 to win, with the most unique entry receiving a $200 prize.
Last year, the fifteen entries in the Trailer Race were reduced to one, in eleven minutes.
The Cheater Races, as the name implies, allows competitors to do almost anything to their racecars. Cheater Races will be held for the modified, street stock, sportmod, and 4-stock classes.
The racing action shifts to the historic half-mile track on Saturday, September 21st, for the All-Star Classic. The main event of the evening will be the season finale for the Deery Brothers Summer Series for IMCA Late Models. Also racing that evening will be IMCA Modifieds, Street Stocks, IMCA SportMods, and 4-Stocks.
The Davenport Speedway is located at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds, on West Locust Street in Davenport, Iowa. Pit gates open at 4:30pm, the grandstand at 5:00pm, with hotlaps at 6:30 and racing at 7:00pm.
