Spieker, Stiens, Rock and Tull Score Adams County Speedway Wins

CORNING, Ia (May 13, 2006) - A chilly night could do little to stop the hot racing action Saturday for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway. Chris Spieker became the first repeat winner as Kirby Stiens, Billy Rock and Jim Tull all took their first checkers of the season.

Trent Jackson battled Scott Koskovich for the early lead in the Dodge late model feature with Koskovich getting the upper hand. Koskovich then saw Ryan Vicker charge around the high side to take over the top spot. Vicker began to stretch a lead until he got into the crumbs off turn four and spun, giving the lead to Joe Kosiski. Kosiski then had his hands full and battled side by side for a few laps with Chris Spieker before Spieker claimed the top spot and went on to record the victory with Kosiski, Bryant Goldsmith, Paul Glendenning, and Karl Ritterbusch rounding out the top five.

Ryan Peckham took early command of the Budweiser modified feature with Jesse Dennis and Kirby Stiens fighting for second. Stiens eventually grabbed the second spot and chased down Peckham for the lead. Stiens powered to the front and began to stretch a lead. Late in the race, Dennis came up to challenge for the win. Stiens survived the pressure to claim his first career feature win with Dennis, Brian Foote, Peckham and Chris Hogan rounding out the top five.

Billy Rock took the early lead of the Northland Oil pro street feature with Steve Churchill applying heavy pressure. The next challenger for the lead was A.J. Miller and Rock had enough to hold him at bay until a caution waved on the white flag lap, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. On that restart, Tony Hardisty made dives to the bottom side of Rock and Miller and moved up to the second spot with a half a lap to go. Hardisty made another drive to the bottom in the last corner and had the lead coming to the final straight, but Rock’s high side momentum carried him back to the lead by a fender at the finish for his first victory of the season. Rock and Hardisty were followed at the finish by Miller, Joe Zadina and Rick Pitzer.

Donald Sexton outdualled the front row starters to come from his third starting position to lead the early parts of the NAPA hobby stock feature. Sexton had the field in his mirror until Jim Tull came up and claimed the lead. Once in front, Tull had a clear path to his first victory of the season and was followed to the line by Jeremy Swanson, Brad Bergren, Sexton and Matt Williamson.
