Spieker, Foote, Miller and Hudson are victorious at Adams
County Speedway
CORNING, Ia (May 20, 2006) - Night number four of the 2006 season for the NASCAR
Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway is in the books. Matt Hudson,
Greg Miller and Randy Foote took the wins in the NAPA hobby stocks, Northland
Oil pro streets, and Budweiser modified to continue a streak of no repeat
winners for the season in their classes, while Chris Spieker took his third
straight Dodge late model win.
Todd McKee took early command of the Dodge late model feature as Chris Spieker
and Joe Kosiski charged from their sixth row starting positions to get into
contention by the middle of the race. Spieker won the battle through traffic and
took the lead with Kosiski following into second a few laps later. Spieker’s
lead by that time was too much for Kosiski to overcome as Spieker took his third
straight win. McKee, Ed Kosiski and Ryan Vicker followed Spieker and Kosiski to
the line.
Randy Foote was the only leader of the Budweiser modified feature as he posted
his first win of the season, but his path to the win was not easy. The scramble
for second was a good one Jeff James and Larry Foote taking turns at chasing
Randy Foote, but no one had what it took to get him out of the lead. At the
finish, it was Randy Foote, Jeff James, Russell Stewart, Dan Mueller and Jeremy
Tibben.
The start of the Northland Oil pro street feature saw Ray Knipe in command with
Joe Zadina coming through traffic to challenge for the lead. By the middle of
the race, there was a pack of two by two at the front with Knipe and Zadina on
the high line and Greg Miller and Jeff Orr on the bottom. Miller and Orr won
that dual and moved to the top two spots and ran nose to tail around the bottom
until the last lap when Orr moved to the middle of the track and alongside
Miller for the lead. Miller had enough through the last corner to secure the win
with Orr, Steve Churchill, A.J. Miller and Zadina rounding out the top five.
Matt Hudson jumped to the early lead of the NAPA hobby stock feature with Cory
Luther and Josh Sink battling for second. Ryan Vicker worked past Luther for
second late in the race, but Hudson was too far gone to see. Hudson took the win
over Vicker, Luther, Brad Derry and Sink.
