McKee, Mueller, Miller and Yearington score wins at Adams County Speedway

CORNING, Ia. (June 17, 206) - It was R&S Auto “Faster Pastor” night for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway, but “Mother Nature” just about stole the show. Heavy rains formed and stayed just a few miles to the north and west of the speedway and a few sprinkles made their way to the track, but the show got done, anyway. Todd Mckee, Dan Mueller, A.J. Miller and Kevin Yearington took home top honors in the race cars and the Villisca United Methodist Church, led by Pastor Gordon Scott took the “Faster Pastor” event.

Kevin Yearington wasted little time getting to the front of the NAPA hobby stock feature. Jim Tull and Ryan Vicker then quickly moved into second and third and challenged for the lead. Yearington held the lead until about 5 laps to go when Tull moved to the point with Yearington still a close second with Vicker wanting to find a hole to get to the front, as well. Tull was able to cross the line ahead of Vicker and Yearington, but a post race inspection found both Tull and Vicker to not have legal transmissions, and Yearington was awarded the win. Second to fifth was Jeremy Swanson, Matt Hudson, Les Helvie and Jason Parker.

A.J. Miller started up front and led all the laps of the Northland Oil pro street feature, but the last few laps, no lead was safe. The scramble for second between Tony Hardisty, Mike Garner and Greg Miller saw Garner get to second with a few laps left to deal with A. J. Miller as Garner pulled along-side for the lead a few times as the pair raced past lapped traffic. Miller was up to the challenge as he claimed the win ahead of Garner, Greg Miller, Hardisty and Craig Garner.

John O’Neal bested fellow front row starter Ron Gay for the early lead of the Budweiser modified feature and led the first few laps until Gay found a little different groove to his liking and sped into the lead only to spin a few laps later and hand the lead to Randy Foote. Dan Mueller then spent a few laps side-by-side with Foote before taking control of the race. Mueller went on to the win with Foote second, followed by Jeremy Tibben, Kirby Stiens, and Russell Stewart.

Todd McKee wheeled his R&S Auto sponsored machine to the point of the Dodge late model feature and quickly showed that the R&S bonus money was going to be his for the night. Yellow flags and even a brief shower while under caution did nothing to deter McKee’s charge for the win as Paul Glendenning, Bryant Goldsmith, Joe Kosiski and Chris Spieker rounded out the top five.
