Goldsmith, Tibben, Zadina (twice), and Hudson score Adams
County Speedway wins
CORNING, IA. (Aug. 12, 2006) - The Chase for the Championship is getting red hot
for the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series at the Adams County Speedway. Bryant
Goldsmith, Jeremy Tibben, Joe Zadina and Matt Hudson scored wins during feature
competition and Zadina doubled up with a victory in the Northland Oil pro street
king of the hill presented by Diamond Oil/Sunoco and Ironman Racing Supply.
Todd McKee shot into the early lead of the Dodge late model feature and began to
stretch a comfortable lead. That lead would only last 10 laps as Bryant
Goldsmith charged up through the field to grab the lead. Goldsmith then built up
a lead until he encountered lapped traffic and Joe Kosiski began to reel him in.
Goldsmith’s lead was just enough and as he crossed the finish line, Kosiski was
on his bumper. Rounding out the top five were McKee, Chris Spieker and Barry
Sorensen.
Stoney Stuart grabbed the lead at the beginning of the Budweiser modified
feature with Ryan Peckham tracking him down to take over the top spot a few laps
later. Peckham’s lead lasted until the halfway point when Jeremy Tibben powered
into the lead. Tibben went on to score his third win of the season. Jerry
Carlson came from 20th starting spot to take second on the last lap with Dan
Mueller, Peckham and J.C. Wyman rounding out the top five.
Craig Garner took the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature, but
the night belonged to Joe Zadina. After starting 13th, Zadina moved to the front
in only 7 laps and pulled away with an impressive victory. Mike Garner, David
Schafroth, Steve Churchill and Jeff Orr rounded out the top five. Zadina then
dispatched of Mike Garner, Rick Pitzer and Tony Hardisty to become the King of
the Hill for 2006.
Jeff Tuttle led lap one of the NAPA hobby stock feature, then Ryan Vicker took
over. Vicker then had to try to hold off the strong challenge of Brad Bergren as
Bergren actually took the lead, but a caution flag put Vicker back in front.
Next up for a challenge was Matt Hudson who got the lead with three laps to go
and Hudson went on to win his second of the season. Bergren got by Vicker for
second on the last lap with Brad Derry and Joshua Sink rounding out the top
five.
