Adams County Speedway goes green on April 14th
CORNING, IA (April 9, 2007) - The 2007 Adams County Speedway season is ready to
get rolling. The 24th season of NASCAR racing will begin on April 14th with the
introduction of the newly named NASCAR Whelen All-American Series.
The details of at least one Nextel Cup driver appearance will be made in the
next few days and plans are to have two appearances at the speedway this season
by a Nextel Cup driver.
The same four exciting classes will take to the speedway each Saturday night
with the only change being the name of the Whelen late models. Also running will
be the Budweiser modifieds, Northland Oil pro streets and NAPA hobby stocks.
One major addition to the ACS racing family for 2007 will be Kenny Edwards,
brother of Nextel Cup star Carl Edwards. Each of our four champions, Chris
Spieker, Jeremy Tibben, Mike Garner and Brad Bergren are back to defend their
titles.
Another change for 2007 will be the availability of an extra night at the end of
the season. September 15th will be used as a makeup date if needed. If two or
more Chase for the Championship dates get rained out, or if the final night
would get rained out, we will add September 15th to the schedule to hopefully
race to the final night checkers instead of letting mother nature end the
season.
Grandstand admission will be $8 for adults, $6 for students, and 12 and under
free. The grandstand will open at 5:00 with hot laps at 6:30 and the first race
of 2007 taking the track at 7:00. Opening night, the pit gate will open at 3:00.
As always, go to www.acspeedway.com or call 712-785-3271 for more information.
