Spieker, Mueller, Hardisty and Hudson are victorious at Adams
County Speedway
CORNING. IA (June 16) - It was Cellular 29 Plus/Lyrix Wireless kid’s money grab
night for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the Adams County Speedway.
The big kids grabbing the most money along with the trophies were Chris Spieker,
Dan Mueller, Tony Hardisty and Matt Hudson.
Jeremy Ribbey paced the first few laps of the NAPA hobby stock feature until
Cody Werner and Matt Hudson moved to the top two spots with Hudson ending up
with the lead. Hudson led throughout but Werner did not go away. As the field
took the white flag, Werner was alongside Hudson for the lead, but he did not
have quite enough to get the win. Hudson took his first point-paying win of the
season ahead of Werner, Chris Vannausdle, Kevin Yearington and Trent Davison.
Joe Zadina jumped to the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature.
During a few caution periods, Zadina always had enough to pull back away from
the field, but as a caution flew with only two laps left, Zadina retired to the
pits with mechanical problems. This left the battle for the win to Tony Hardisty
and Greg Miller and Hardisty went on to his third win of the season ahead of
Greg Miller, Ron Ballinger, Mike Garner and A. J. Miller.
The early leader in the Budweiser modified feature was Mark Hoover as he paced
the first five laps. After a caution period, it didn’t take long for Dan Mueller
to prove to the field that he was not going to be challenged as he took the lead
and went on to his third win of the season. Following Mueller to the stripe was
Ryan Peckham, Jeff James, Russell Stewart and Jeremy Tibben.
Mike Whitehead shot to the early lead in the Whelen late model feature and began
to distance himself from the pack. Following a few yellow flags Whitehead was
able to hold off Chris Spieker over the first ten laps, but Spieker finally
worked to the front and pull away from the field for his fourth win of the
season ahead of Whitehead, Jason O’Brien, Troy McKee and Trent Jackson.
