Spieker, Carlson, Zadina and Bergren are Winners at Adams County Speedway

CORNING, IA (July 28) - It was Coca-Cola kid’s bike race night at the Adams County Speedway and the last night before the Chase for the Championship for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series drivers. Chris Spieker, Jerry Carlson, Joe Zadina and Brad Bergren took home the trophies at the end of the night.

The Whelen late model feature saw Todd McKee jump out to the early lead and build up a comfortable margin. Chris Spieker quickly came through traffic and got into second just before a caution waved. Once green again, Spieker blasted to the lead and cruised to his ninth win of the season. The battle for second involved four cars late in the race with Jeremy Houck taking the spot over Joe Kosiski, McKee and Paul Glendenning.

Josh Most led the first lap of the Budweiser modified feature only to get way too loose and relinquish the lead to Todd Van Eaton before the second lap could be completed. One lap would be all for Van Eaton up front as Jerry Carlson charged into the lead and through a few more cautions, never gave up the top spot. For Carlson it was his third win on the season. The rest of the top five was Jeremy Tibben, Dan Mueller, Russell Stewart and Van Eaton.

Craig Garner came away with the early lead in the Northland Oil pro street feature only to have Steve Churchill take it away after only a few laps. Churchill was heavily pressured throughout the race by Joe Zadina with Zadina finally able to secure the top spot with only a few laps to go. Zadina recorded his third win on the season ahead of Churchill, Mike Garner, Ron Ballinger and Todd Owens.

Cody Werner charged into the early lead in the NAPA hobby stocks, but the man on the move was Brad Bergren. Bergren moved through the pack and began reeling in the leader and took over the top spot just before the mid-point of the race. Bergren went on to his fourth win of the season ahead of Werner, Jesse Sobbing, Tom Myers and Brad Derry.
