Adams County Speedway goes green on April 12th CORNING, IA (April 6) - The 2008 Adams County Speedway season is just about set to go green. This will be the 25th season under the NASCAR banner for the speedway, and the 26th under the promotion of Hampel Racing. This will be the second season under the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series banner. Opening night will be April 12th. Returning to action will be the Whelen late models, Budweiser modifieds, Northland Oil pro streets and the NAPA hobby stocks. Special events on the calendar will the MLRA touring late models on June 14th and the USMTS modifieds on July 22nd with special guest Kenny Wallace. The season will conclude with the Tradition on September 20th. Notable drivers making class changes include 2007 NAPA hobby stock champion Matt Hudson moving up to the Northland Oil pro street class. 2006 NAPA hobby stock champion Brad Bergren will be piloting a Budweiser modified. Jeremy Hodapp has a Whelen late model. Les Helvie will join an already packed lineup in the Budweiser modifieds. Grandstand admission will be $10 for adults, $5 for students, and 12 and under free. The grandstand will open at 5:00 with hot laps at 6:30 and the first race of 2008 taking the track at 7:00. Opening night pit gate will open at 4:00.
