Spieker, Dennis, Miller and Davison score wins at Adams County Speedway

CORNING, IA (July 19) - It was Direct TV night for the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at the Adams County Speedway and a fast paced night was capped off with a final checkered flag at 9:53. The action was two and three wide all night long with some great battles as Chris Spieker, Jesse Dennis, Greg Miller and Trent Davison came out with the victories.

The Whelen late model feature saw Mike Whitehead and Jamie Kinyon battle for the early lead with Kinyon getting the upper hand for most of the first ten laps of the race with Jeremy Hodapp close behind. A three-car pack of Chris Spieker, Karl Ritterbusch and Paul Glendenning spent the next few laps getting themselves into the top three spots with Ritterbusch gaining the lead. Ritterbusch and Spieker then went door to door for the lead with Spieker finally gaining the top spot with ten laps to go. Spieker then drove off for his third win of the season with Ritterbusch barely holding off Glendenning for second. Trent Jackson and Todd McKee rounded out the top five.

Kirby Stiens jumped to the early lead in the Budweiser modified feature and ran out to a comfortable margin before Jesse Dennis worked up to second and started to close down the distance to the leader. Dennis was able to slip by and take the top spot just before a late race caution bunched the field. On the restart Dennis was able to pull away for his first win of the season ahead of Ryan Peckham, Dean Mahlstedt, Dan Mueller and Stiens.

The first five laps of the Northland Oil pro street feature were paced by Matt Hudson. Hudson held on until Ron Ballinger moved by, but that lead was short-lived as Greg Miller set sail around the bottom of the track and claimed the lead which he never gave up. Miller scored his second win of the season ahead of Jeremy Swanson, Ballinger, Steve Churchill and Hudson.

Robert Hague and Donald Sexton took turns leading the opening laps of the NAPA hobby stock feature until Matt Williamson took over following a spin by Sexton. Williamson was only able to fend off Trent Davison for a few laps until Davison shot into the lead. Davison then had to hold off Matt Hudson to the checkered to score his first win of the season. Davison and Hudson were followed to the finish by Kevin Yearington, Williamson and Brad Derry.
