O’Reilly MSRA Continues 2009 Campaign at Malden Speedway

BEEBE, Arkansas (August 4) – The stars and cars of the O’Reilly MSRA Super
Late Model tour will return to action this Friday, August 7th at Malden
Speedway in Malden, Missouri.
With the first thirteen events of the 2009 season in the history book, nine
different drivers have already found their way into victory lane including
Billy Moyer Jr., Kyle Beard, Wendell Wallace, Kevin Sitton, Bill Frye,
Michael Murphree, Jon Kirby, Billy Moyer, and Eric Turner with Moyer Jr.,
Frye, and Wallace each finding victory lane on two separate occasions.
Billy Moyer Jr. from Batesville, Arkansas, continues to maintain the top
spot in the O’Reilly MSRA standings with a 67 point lead over second place
and will be looking to build on his point’s advantage this Friday.
Behind the point’s leader, the battle continues to heat up for the top five
positions in the current tour standings. Kyle Beard (Arkansas), Jeff Floyd
(Arkansas), Jon Mitchell (Texas), and Jon Kirby (Arkansas) round out the top
five in the latest points as the series continues to enjoy its most
competitive season in its history.
The 2009 Kuntz & Co. Rookie of the Year standings continue to be led by Gary
Scott Christian from Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Austin Rettig (Missouri) and
Michael Murphree (Arkansas) round out the current standings in the Kuntz &
Co. RoY chase.
This Friday the top five drivers in the current O’Reilly MSRA standings and
the Kuntz and Company Rookie of the Year candidates will be joined by a
strong contingent of competitors including Dewaine Hottinger (Arkansas),
Joey Mack (Missouri), Jeff Sloan (Missouri), Randy Mitchell (Oklahoma), Todd
Hall (Missouri), Billy James (Missouri), and many more.
This Friday, August 7th the tour will make their second ever visit to Malden
Speedway in Malden, Missouri. In 2008, the tour drew a record field of 33
Super Late Models for their inaugural event at the southeast Missouri oval,
which saw Jesse Stovall win a barn-burner over Jon Kirby and Joey Mack. This
Friday’s event will boast a $2,000 to win/$300 to start, 30 lap event. The
gates are slated to open at 5:30pm with racing action slated for 7:30pm.
Grandstand admission is $15 with children $5. Pit admission is $30. For more
