LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (September 22, 2010) – It’s that time, as the nation’s top Micro Sprint Car drivers are set to take to Little Rock’s high-banked, ¼-mile I-30 Speedway clay oval for this weekend’s Fifth Annual 600 Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires. Following a Wednesday night Test ‘N Tune Session, past event winners Travis Senter, Jr., Jerrod Wilson and Jason Lair will take on a stellar field of contenders over three full nights of racing action on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. While the Horizon Mini Sprints join in on Friday and Saturday festivities, Saturday’s card also include the final night of weekly competition for I-30 Speedway’s Sprint Car division with the track champion earning a guaranteed starting position in the track’s $15,000-to-win, $2,300-to-start 23rd Annual COMP Cams Short Track Nationals presented by Hoosier Tires set for October 28-30. A $3,500 winner’s share is on the line in Saturday’s Fifth Annual 600 Nationals championship finale with $300 to start following Thursday and Friday features that both offer up $1,100 to win and $100 to start. The Thursday and Friday winners’ share includes an extra $100 from Pro Tire and Saturday’s feature winner cut includes an extra $500 from K&W Truck Repair. A sweep of the weekend’s three feature events will be worth $5,700, while making the feature all three nights will net a minimum of $500. Non-qualifiers receive $50 on both Thursday and Friday and then $150 on Saturday. McKenzie Racing has also offered a $100 bonus for the Hard Charger in Saturday night’s feature event as well a $100 bonus to Saturday’s first non-qualifier. Entries from New Jersey to Arizona have been filed for the prestigious Micro Sprint Car event, with 15 states represented among the early entries. Hailing from the host state of Arkansas, Osceola’s Travis Senter, Jr., topped the inaugural version of the 600 Nationals in 2006 before snaring a second win in 2008. Tulsa’s Jerrod Wilson took the winner’s cut across state lines to Oklahoma in 2007, while Del City, Oklahoma’s Jason Lair took the weather-postponed Fourth Annual win earlier this year in a hotly-contested championship finale. The Fifth Annual 600 Nationals will also include the Landers Harley Davidson Horizon Mini Sprints on Friday and Saturday. Saturday night’s championship finale will also include a full card of Sprint Car action, the final night of track points for the I-30 Speedway Sprint Cars.
