World of Outlaws Ambush Knoxville
Raceway Saturday! Donny Schatz, the three-time and defending Knoxville Nationals and World of Outlaws series champion will not enter the weekend on top of the points. 20-time WoO champ Steve Kinser leads the band at this stage, with Joey Saldana 31 markers behind, and Schatz third, 46 points behind the “King”. Also expected to be on hand are Jason Meyers and Jason Sides who round out the top five in WoO points, as well as 1983 Knoxville Nationals champion Sammy Swindell, Craig Dollansky, who is now piloting the Kasey Kahne #19 machine, 6-time Knoxville track champion Terry McCarl, 2005 track champion Kerry Madsen, and 8-time Knoxville track champion, Danny Lasoski. Other WoO regulars for the 2009 season include Kraig Kinser, “The Wild Child” Jac Haudenschild, Lucas Wolfe, Sam Hafertepe Jr., Brian Ellenberger and Tim Kaeding. Other drivers expected include Randy Hannagan, Wayne Johnson, Tony Bruce Jr. and Brooke Tatnell, Among the Knoxville Raceway regulars expected to compete with the WoO for the $10,000 top prize are 2007 track champion, Brian Brown, 2006 track champion Billy Alley, two-time track champion Skip Jackson, 1995 track champion Johnny Herrera, “Dynamite” Mark Dobmeier, Dusty Zomer, Calvin Landis, Lynton Jeffrey, Don Droud Jr., Bronson Maeschen and many more of your favorites! Joining the World of Outlaws will be the 360’s! This will serve as the opener for their Knoxville Championship Cup Series season. Headlining the class are defending track champion, Matt Moro, defending owner champion, Jesse Giannetto, and returning challengers such as Gregg Bakker and Johnny Anderson!
