(Bill W) September 23, 2009 – All good things must come to an end, and such is the case for the exciting 2009 season put in by the Ideal Ready Mix Sprint Invaders. Season Championship Night will be this Saturday, September 26, at the 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa. Several positions in the top ten will be up for grabs, including a race for the championship! 2004 Sprint Invaders champion “Lil’ Dude” Bobby Mincer heads towards Saturday with a slim thirteen point advantage over two-time champ (2002, 2006) “Flyin’” Ryan Jamison. With each race hitting the track a factor in the points and $1,500 going out to the feature winner, you don’t want to miss this one! Mincer and Jamison suffered DNF’s at the Farley Speedway last weekend, so both look to be on their game this week! Matt Rogerson runs third, currently 101 points out of the lead. Mike Houseman Jr. is fourth in the points, just three markers ahead of Jimmy Davies. Matt Harms is sixth, rookie Ben Wagoner is seventh, CJ Houseman eighth, Justin Parrish ninth and leading feature winner, “Showtime” Kaley Gharst is tenth despite missing three races. Gharst became the all-time feature winner in series’ history at Farley with his 13th career win. He also heads the winner’s list this year, garnering six wins in the Plath Motorsports #14P. The Sprint Invaders program will be intense, and the 305 sprints will add more open wheel entertainment. The Mod Lites and a special tribute to Bud Taeger will also be on the card! The rain date for Saturday’s event is this Sunday, September 27. Pit gates open at 4 p.m, and grandstands open at 5 p.m. with hot laps scheduled for 6:15 p.m. Adult tickets are $15, with seniors and students admitted for $13. Kids 10 and under are FREE.
