Brown shot around Garner on the back chute after the green flag and led all
25 laps without a challenge. Three cautions slowed the race. On lap 10, an
inadvertent yellow came out for Drueke, who had done a 360 spin. He got his
spot (10th) back. The restart saw Brown ahead of Garner, Grosz, Maeschen
and Boston. Grosz was able to get by Garner on the restart and Maeschen
started working on Garner himself. The two were exchanging slidejobs on
opposite ends of the track when the yellow came out for Boston, who blew his
left rear tire. Now Brown led Grosz, Maeschen, Garner and Peters back to
green. Three laps later, Phillips came to a stop on the frontstretch and
retired. Agan had passed Peters for fifth in the only change in the top
five. The win was Brown's third career tally in Denison, and worth $2,000.
McCarl was the hard-charger.
