SIX EXCITING CLASSES AT THE MOUNTAIN-DEW BLOOMFIELD SPEEDWAY WITH SIX NEW FACES IN VICTORY LANE

Mike Mayberry of Fremont gets his first ever win during the  Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints  first appearance at the Bloomfield Speedway April 11th.


Spilman's Auto Parts USRA Modified main event went to
 Steve Stewart of Washington, Ia.

BLOOMFIELD, IA (May 11) - After almost a month of being washed out the Casey’s General Stores Weekly racing series made its way back to the always exciting Mountain-Dew Bloomfield Speedway with six exciting classes in action sponsored by Elmer Wood Company and Jim Lynch Farms. All six divisions saw new faces in victory lane and one driver picking up his first ever win.

In the first feature of the night the Hougland Repair Shop USRA stock car feature made its way to the track for fifteen exciting laps with Colt Mather and Matt Greiner battling for the race lead before Mike Robinson raced his way from the eight starting spot to make a three wide race for the lead. Mather would hold off several tries from Robinson for the win with Robinson taking the runner-up spot with Greiner in third and Chris leathers of Callao, Mo. taking fourth after leading the first lap of action.

The second feature of the night was the Mid-America 305 Winged Sprints in action for the first appearance at the Bloomfield Speedway with Chad Huston of Jamesport, Mo. and Mike Mayberry of Fremont leading the field to the green flag. Huston would set a blistering pace and looked to have his first win of his carrier in hand. The caution flag would fly for Rob Kubli of Milo crossing the 23k up and closing the field back up for Mayberry to have a chance at Huston. Huston would restart as the leaded but Mayberry would go wheel-to-wheel in turns one and two with Mayberry making the pass on lap thirteen and would the final three laps for his first ever win. Huston would take the runner-up spot with Matt Stephenson and Josh Padellford battling for the third spot with Stephenson coming from the tenth spot after taking the Owl’s Nest Chance for $100 bonus if he could win from the back. Stephenson passed on the white flag lap for a third place finish and Padellford in fourth. Veteran racer Bob Lamb of Mitchellville taking the fifth spot in the 47 machine. The Lancaster Oil Company race to the finish went to Bob Lamb. The First Choice reality mystery spot went to Mitchell Alexander of Knoxville in eighth and Haines Auto Supply Hard Luck award went to Louis Lynch of Glenwood, Mo. Who had drive line problems ending his night.

Paul Underwood of Ottumwa would make it two straight wins at Bloomfield winning the USRA B-modified feature.


Kollision Korner Hornet main event going to Dale Porter of Floris.

 

In the third feature of the night Paul Underwood of Ottumwa would make it two straight wins at Bloomfield winning the USRA B-modified feature after holding off Andrew Schroeder of Keswick who took the second spot and Cody Townsend of Bloomfield taking the third spot.

The fourth feature was the Kollision Korner Hornet main event going ten laps with Dale Porter of Floris taking the win over last weeks winner Ryan Yanke of Bloomfield who finished in the runner-up spot. The third spot went to local racer from Bloomfield Kevin Garrett and Keith Engle of Moravia taking the fourth spot.
 

In the Kirkland Auto USRA hobby stock main event Steve Allen of Oskaloosa paced the field for the first three laps before Jason McDaniel of Eldon and Derek Kirkland of Centerville made for three wide racing for the lead. McDaniel would take the lead on lap four with Kirkland in second and Allen in third. McDaniel would hold off several challenges form Kirkland with Jim Walker making the pass for second on the last lap to take the runner-up spot with Kirkland in third and Allen in fourth.

The Final feature of the night was the Spilman Auto Parts USRA Modified main event going sixteen laps with Ron VerBeek of Oskaloosa leading the field to the green flag. VerBeek would pace the field till lap five. Steve Stewart of Washington would battle with VerBeek for the lead with Stewart Making the pass on lap six and lead the final ten laps for the win. Jim Lynch of Bloomfield and VerBeek would battle for the second spot with Lynch making the pass after coming form the eighth starting spot. Brandon Banks of Washington would work his way from seventh spot to third and VerBeek taking the fourth spot.

Next week will feature the always exciting teacher feature with local teachers trying there luck at the Mountain-Dew Bloomfield Speedway sponsored by Community First Bank so you don’t want to miss this one along with the Casey’s General Stores USRA Weekly Racing Series with five classes in action with hot laps at 7:00pm and racing action at 7:30pm.
