SCHROEDER TAKES FIRST EVER WIN AT MOUNTAIN-DEW BLOOMFIELD
SPEEDWAY

BLOOMFIELD, Iowa (May 18) - Racing action was held at the Mountain-Dew
Bloomfield Speedway sponsored by Community First Bank with the Casey's General
Stores USRA Weekly Racing Series in action. This was the third race for the 2007
season with three new faces in victory lane two repeat winner and one first time
ever winner.
In the USRA stock car feature Matt Greiner of Washington took the win after
passing Pat Rachels of Knoxville with two laps remaining. Rachels took the
runner-up spot with Shane Weller of Agency racing from the twelveth starting
spot to third and Phil McClure of Floris racing from the back after spinning
earlier in the to take fourth.
In the USRA B-modified feature Andrew Schroeder of Keswick leading all ten laps
for his first ever win.This fifteen year old racer held off Paul Underwood of
Ottumwa who had won the first two shows. Underwood took second with Gary Harward
of Floris taking third in his first outing in 2007. The fourth spot went to Cody
Townsend of Bloomfield.
In the Kollision Korner hornet division Dale Porter of Floris celebrated his
birthday in victory lane with his second straight win. Porter held off Andrew
Hustead of Rutledge,Mo. who took the runner-up spot with Larry Hopkins of
Ottumwa taking third in his first vist of the year and Ryan Yahnke of Bloomfield
in fourth. The Spilman Auto Parts USRA modified feature went to Zack Vanderbeek
of New Sharon leading all fifteen laps for the win. Steve Stewart last weeks
winner worked his way to the second spot after starting in the 8th spot. Stewart
tried to work the bottom of the racing surface but run out of time. The third
spot went to Richie Gustin of Marshalltown who raced his way from the back to
finish third and David Holder of Clarece,Mo.in fourth.
The Kirkland Auto USRA hobby stock feature was a thriller with Steve Allen of
Oskaloosa trying to hold off Jason McDaniel of Eldon but McDaniel woud make the
move in turns one and two to take the lead with five laps remaining to take the
win. Allen took the second spot with Jim Walker of Mystic in third and early
race leader Jimmy Hayes of Moravia took the fourth spot.
Next week will feature the USRA Late Modle Touring Series racing for $3000 to
win with this being the third stop of 2007 with Tommy Elston of Keokuk and Dave
Eckrich of Oxford taking the second win. Also in action will be the Casey's
General Stores USRA Weekly Racing Series. Hope to see you at the races on Friday
