TIMMERMAN PICKS UP FIRST FEATURE WIN BLIVEN, STAATS, and KILE
REPEAT
COLUMBUS JUNCTION (May 26, 2006) - Friday, May 26, 2006 got underway at the CJ
Raceway with the make up feature from Friday, May 19, that had to be postponed
due to a wreck in the late model feature taking out over 100 feet of fence.
The fence was rebuilt and the night got underway with Billy Faler picking up the
feature win with Brett Timmerman taking second in his first CJ Cruiser feature.
Brian Tipps picked up another 4 cylinder feature win, with Dustin Bliven, Rod
Staats, and Kevin Kile repeating wins from last week. Brett Timmerman took the
CJ Cruiser feature win.
Matt Duncan was out front in the 4 cylinder feature for the first two laps
before Brian Tipps took the lead right before the flag stand on the fronstretch.
Tipps led withDuncan in second the next three laps before Duncan went high in
turn 4, with Geoffrey
Theobald going under and taking second. James Malcom and Wayne Noble also made
it past by the white flag lap. Duncan then rolled in turn 2, bringing out the
caution and ending the race on the white flag lap. Tipps picks up another
feature win,
G. Theobald takessecond, with Malcom in third.
Brian Holmes and Darrin Ealey were leading the hobby stock feature until Dustin
Bliven made his way from his last place start to first by lap 3. Ealey moved
into second, putting Holmes in third. Michael Frank, II made his way around
Holmes for third when the two made contact in turn 4 racing for the third place
spot, bringing out a caution. On the restart it's Bliven, Ealey, Mark Winkel,
and Jeremy Tompkins. Ealey went high in turn four, with Winkel and Tompkins
passing. At the checkers Bliven makes it two in a row, with Winkel taking
second, and Tompkins third.
Rod Staats led the entire IMCA stock car feature repeating his feature win.
Shelly Mizell was in second with Aaron Summy challenging her the first 11 laps.
On lap 12, Summy made the pass coming out of turn 2 to take second. At the
checkers it's Staats, Summy, and Mizell.
Mick Wiele started on the pole and kept the point for the first 7 laps of the
late model feature with Kevin Kile coming from his eighth place starting spot to
second by lap 2. By lap 8, Kile took the lead with Wiele in second and Hal
Russell in third. One lap
later Russell and Jeff Guengerich made their way around Wiele to take second and
third.Two laps later Guengerich stole second from Russell. Kile repeats,
Guengerich takessecond, and Russell third.
The CJ Cruiser feature started out with a pile up on the first lap taking out
almost half of the field. When things were back underway, Timmerman took the
point with Billy Faler in second and Rod Summy in third for the rest of the
race. Timmerman
picks up his first CJ Cruiser feature win with Faler in second and Summy in
third.
Friday, June 2, 2006 the CJ Raceway Relay For Life Favorite Drivers
will be presented their plaques.
