COLUMBUS JUNCTION, IA (July 24) Sky Griffith, Wapello and Daniel Keltner, also of Wapello picked up their first wins at CJ Speedway as a storm was headed their way. With two features under their belts, word was received of a severe storm with high winds headed their way so for safety reasons the action was stopped after the mod lite feature so everyone could get to safety. The remaining features will be completed next Friday during the Louisa County Fair week race with the IMCA Stock Cars, Modifieds and 4 Cylinders having double features. Two drivers were able to race to their first feature wins Friday, July 24 when Sky Griffith made a last lap pass over Rob Wilsey in the hobby stock feature and Daniel Keltner took the checkered flag in the Mod Lite feature event. Rob Wilsey took the lead from Matt Tucker on lap three of the hobby stock feature and would lead the field around the 4/10 mile for the next four laps working to hold off Griffith. On the final lap Griffith made a move to the outside of Wilsey on the back stretch and took the lead going on to take the checkered flag for the first time this year. A nice field of eighteen mod lites took to the track for the second feature with Michael Domingues and Evan Epperson on the front row. But it would be Daniel Keltner taking the lead on the first lap from his second row start. Racing action was stopped with Keltner continuing to hold his lead as three time winner, Justin Buchholz rolled his car on the back stretch landing on its roof and bringing out the red flag. When action resumed Keltner maintained his lead as Jeff Miller moved into the second spot to finish second.
