Deery Series returns to familiar turf for Memorial Day special at Boone
BOONE, Iowa (May 24) With the first ever event at Highway 3 Raceway in Allison in the record book, the Deery Brothers Summer Series returns to much more familiar turf on Memorial Day.
IMCA Sunoco Late Models headline the Super Nationals Warm-up Monday, May 29 at Boone Speedway. The holi-day special marks the seriesı 26th visit to Boone dating back to 1988.
Fifteen different drivers have pulled into victory lane following a Deery race at Boone, led by Gary Webb of Blue Grass, who doubled as champion of the IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals on four occasions. Terry Neal of Ely topped the 2005 Warm-up enroute to last yearıs series title while Marshalltownıs Darrel DeFrance scored his second career Super Nationals crown in September.
Sanctioned Modifieds, Stock Cars and Hobby Stocks complete the sixth annual Warm-up card, racing for all applicable IMCA points. The Late Model feature pays $2,000 to win and a minimum of $300 to start. First place for the Modifieds is $400, with $300 to win in the Stocks and $150 to win in each of four Hobby Stock features.
Pit gates open at 2 p.m., hot laps are at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 5 p.m. on Memorial Day.
