Rain interrupts Quad City Deery; feature re-scheduled for May
16
EAST MOLINE, Ill. (April 22) – Right up until the parade lap, it appeared that
the rain might hold off long enough to get in Sunday’s
Deery Brothers Summer Series feature at Quad City Raceway.
After a 10 minute downpour, however, the feature for IMCA Sunoco Late Models was
postponed to Wednes day, May 16. That’s the night after
the rescheduled series show at 34 Raceway in West Burlington, Iowa.
Heat winners at East Moline were Mark Preston of Port Byron, Ray Guss Jr. and
Bobby Toland, both of Milan, and Boone McLaughlin of
Mediapolis, Iowa. Hershel Roberts of East Moline topped the “B” feature.
Fred Remley of Blue Grass, Iowa, ran second in the opening heat, behind Preston,
and drew the pole start.
The feature for non-sanctioned Modifieds will also be on the May 16 program.
