VINTON, Iowa (Dec. 18) A record number of races are scheduled next season
for the Deery Brothers Summer Series.
Twenty-two dates are slated for the IMCA J&J Steel Late Model tour in 2009,
with opening night event set April 11 at 34 Raceway. The West Burlington

Along with a first-time visit to Decorahs Upper Iowa Speedway, the 23rd
annual series ends lengthy ab sences from Howard County Speedway in Cresco,
Fayette County Speedway in West Union and Knoxville Raceway.
These are all outstanding additions to next years schedule, said Tour
Director Kevin Yoder. Weve got a good balance of weekend and mid-week
shows that I believe will prove driver and fan friendly.
Other tracks hosting two Deery events in 2009 are Quincy, Ill., Raceway,
Highway 3 Raceway at Allison, Independence Motor Speedway and Boone
Speedway. The IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals show will be Sept. 7.
The series also makes single stops at Davenport Speedway, Jackson County
Speedway in Maquoketa, Southern Iowa Speedway in Oskaloosa,
I-35 Speedway in Mason City, Hawkeye Downs Speedway in Cedar Rapids, the
Iowa State Fairgrounds Speedway in Des Moines, Marshalltown Speedway and Lee
County Speedway in Donnellson.
All events except the Pepsi will pay $2,000 to win and a minimum of $250 to
start. Non-qualifier money has been increased to $100.
Entry fees will remain at $50 except for the Dirt At the Downs show at
Hawkeye Downs, which will have no entry fee.
What is now the series record of 21 races was held in 1998.
Boone McLaughlin of Mediapolis is the defending Deery champion.
Eighty-nine different drivers qualified for at least one of the 17 tour
